as a 55 year old man, who has been single for 12 years, I can say that there are so many 35 to 55 year old ladies, that had their fun, trying and sampling all the flavors, and sometimes did things that have long term consequences out in the dating market. why? they are looking for a bail out. Few will take responsibility. I say this to all men over 40. Do not be her bail out. I have girlfriend who's 46. We will NEVER be legally married. I own a house and have assets. I will not take a risk of losing them. Men you cannot afford to lose assets. screw a prenup. useless. Always look out for yourself first. Believe me, she's going to put herself first. Let them save themselves. even if she leaves, let her be another chumps problem

The last paragraph of the article had the writer going on about the amazing life her granny has. I read it and wondered how granny got that life? Was she an entrepreneur? Did she excel at a high paying career? Or did her possibly late grandfather do all that and now granny gets to reap the benefits? If it's the latter, then guess what... granny has the patriarchy to thank for her luxurious golden years.

The one thing so few people seem to understand (and yes, I kept it deliberately vague on "people") is that all the valuables like humor, kindness, inside jokes, shared interests and habits...All of that takes a long time to build. If you find a partner that you'll stick around with, you will still find them beautiful some 60 years later....But the FIRST thing that comes up is superficial; and it always will be. If nobody builds on THAT, no longterm development will come of it. It's not rocket science, but something you have to learn, and learn it quickly!

Men improve with age, yes, but only if they put in the work. Easily gained is easily lost: that young, attractive face? Gone. That fabulous mane of hair? Gone. Abs you've always had? Gone. You have to eat well and train, both body and mind, you have to build a business and work hard if you want to have the money; you have to find your path and follow it. Nothing is given. If you wait around for your golden days, they'll never come. Start improving, one small step at a time.
