Men From DFLA Confront Counter Protesters

These guys came for a ruck, plain and simple.
There were a couple times when a riot was close, but to their credit, the Metropolitan Police maintained control. They kept their cool, they kept the peace, and they seemed neutral.

Hello Darren, its a fair question that I'm happy to answer. There is NOTHING wrong with questioning *Islam.* Questioning Islam, or any religion, does not make a person Nazi/Fascist. IMO all religions are based on lies. Islam has certain scripture and doctrines which are, at best, archaic. Questioning those doctrines, and objecting to certain passages in scripture, even mocking it, is perfectly fair, and absolutely protected as free speech. But its a mistake to presume what an individual Muslim adheres to, without asking that person. Too often, people think all Muslims believe the same things, or a behave in a similar way. It's just not true. What IS Fascist, is to suggest that *Muslims* cannot peacefully co-exist in a free society. I've advocated free speech all my life. But let me be clear, when someone says that a religious minority (in the current example, Muslims) are causing all the problems, and/or are not welcome, that is exactly what the Nazi's did 80 years ago regarding the Jews. If a person believes in free speech, as I do, then it naturally follows they also believe in freedom of religion. You cannot believe in the former without also believing in the latter, and if you believe in religious freedom then you have no problem sharing your country/culture with people of all faiths.

If people want to exclude a religious minority, _that IS _*_FASCIST_* and if you don't see the parallels with Nazism that's wilful ignorance. You can't expel them, that would be Fascist. You can't ban a religion from being practised, that would be Fascist. You can't make Islam illegal, that would be Fascist. Internment would be Fascist. Killing them would be Fascist. Guess the only thing to do without being Fascist is to ensure our freedoms are equal for everyone, and try to live together peacefully.

Look, I think all religion is complete bullshit, and Islam has all kinds of bad stuff embedded within it. But the types of changes you are talking about can only come from within Islam itself. That most certainly will not happen in a hostile environment. I'm acquainted with a number of Muslims who work hard on those issues. Sorry about the excluding rant. The DFLA protest was just outside Downing Street, on Whitehall, and the counter protest was about 500 feet down the street. While I was there there were 3 occasions when the FLA guys tried to rush the police lines to break through and bust heads of counter protesters. At no time did anyone from the counter protest try to invade their space. I had arrived right before police placed the steel barriers between the 2 groups. So I walked through the DFLA area on my way, and their platform was supposedly about defending free speech. But many, as shown in this video, had no interest in free speech. They came to brawl. Definitely not to converse.

Yes. I wasn't participating in the chant. I was there though, taking this footage, and for a further 4 hours. I can assure you these thugs are racist. They were hurling anti-Semitic abuse at Jews, for example. The counter protest *never got near* the main protest, our people did not go to their dais to cause a stir. The same cannot be said in reverse. The jerks from the so called Day Of Freedom rally tried to break the police lines 3 times while I was there, trying to riot. So, meaning no disrespect, you don't know what you're talking about.

Yes, the FLA is an extremist, "anti-extremist" group. By anti-extremist, they mean anti-jihadi, which would be okay if that were really what they are all about. But its not. They are against Muslims being in Britain, they are against migrants more generally, refugees, jews, blacks, and LGBT.

Yeah, as soon as I felt exposed walking among them, I retreated back to the safe side of the police line. As an aside, the event yesterday was a textbook display of effective and fair policing. The cops were all about prevention of harm, and de-escalating the tension. None were armed.
