I'll throw in that Men in Black won Best Makeup at the 98 Oscars, rightfully so in my honest opinion. Definitely superior to Titanic, which lost in the same category. It's also another example of D'Onofrio playing the antagonist or just an unlikable character in general. This includes Impostor, The Thirteenth Floor, The Cell and Jurassic World. Not a jab at him as an actor, by the way. Only an observation on the roles I've seen him in.

I flew coach next to that tall alien (also Lurch from Addams family) on a flight to LA. He sat in the middle seat, but at least it was the extra leg room row. He was reading a book on veterinary care while eating a comically small package of nuts+berries with his gigantic hands. I knew who he was but I didn't bring it up until we touched down in LA. He told me he was in Rhode Island for a horror convention, followed up with "But I'm not really into those sorts of things". After meeting him I got the idea that I would see celebrities everywhere I went in LA. To my dissapointment, LA does not have celebrities everywhere you go.

The reasoning behind giving a rookie the wimpy looking Noisy Cricket gun is to teach them that appearances can be deceiving and not to judge a book by its cover. That’s why J was chosen over the military candidates. Because he looked past the surface and saw something other than strange/scary looking aliens during the shooting test. He also didn’t automatically assume that little Tiffany was an innocent human girl, as she appeared to be. The fact that he was able to run down the alien he chased on foot also helped show that he was physically capable of handling the rigors of the job.

Great reaction Mary! The name doesn't mean that it was a men-only club, it comes from a phenomenon associated with UFO sightings where witnesses ("witnesses", delete as applicable) reported visitations by mysterious strangers asking a lot of questions about the sighting, they looked like some sort of government agent but had a particularly odd vibe. These visitors acquired the name Men in Black, hence the name of the original comic.

Based on the last 15 years, not only can we do exactly that, but in 30 years we will still hold it against him. Plus, everytime he tries to move past it or seek an opportunity, we will use it to destroy that opportunity. Welcome to the Digital Age, where the court of public opinion thanks to social media has almost as much power as the actual courts.

my favorite part of this movie was the written test with the egg chairs. the table bit will forever be my favorite, but that part where the guy pokes a hole in his page and looks startled.. then turns his pencil around like he's going to erase it; idk why but for some reason it delights me. i think about that part sometimes randomly when i'm walking around

As a movie and sci-fi lover I easily accept the film premise that aliens walk among us. But as a New Yorker, it drives me crazy that Smith runs around Grand Central and then is at Central Park across from the Guggenheim museum, which is about 40 blocks away. But I know, it’s just a movie.
