I've always thought your opinion about women was really harsh. I'm in my 60's and had a long-term relationship with a woman who was married twice go bad. She started listening to her friends talk about new boyfriends they were dating. She started distancing herself and then I did not hear from her for two months. I've ignored them virtually completely for 2 decades. That has given me: peace, health, wealth, hobbies and happiness. I look at guys my age (barely 40) and they're completely miserable, out of shape, health problems, mental issues, worried about money and it just goes on and on. It was, probably, the BEST decision I made in my life. Once you know the patterns of behavior, YOU run the game and can see it coming from a mile away, making it very easy to avoid.

Just a note: Many women WILL leave you for putting yourself first, so prepare for that outcome. Though statistically, most women will leave you anyway (divorce rate 50%+, initiated by 80% women), but you will be in a much, much better position when that day comes. Always keep that in mind.... yourself = first.

Here's an example that worked for me with my current girlfriend: On our first date, I went "Hey, I got a half marathon tomorrow and I need some carbs, want to come to Olive Garden with me for some dinner?". About a month ago I was on an LTR that was like this, I wasn't my own point of origin, and it was me going to her mother's house with her during the weekend instead of getting my stuff done (your example was absolutely relatable for me). Problem is anytime I wanted to focus on what I cared the most, there would be consequences, like I was the bad guy that left her to her own, or that doesn't care about her, or whatever.
