Good points made but those "divorce rates" are misleading and probably inaccurate. The percentage of people who get married a 3rd time is very low to begin with so really small sample size. The average age of 2nd marriages is going up so it's more plausible that the number of these 2nd marriages ending in divorce is probably falling, not rising, as older couples are recognizing that they are running out of opportunities. The divorce rate for 1st marriages is probably more like 40% to 45%.

I love it when women complain about men and maturity. I think back to university, where people are supposed to be 'young adults', and even afterward in my mid- to late-20s. The stupid shit I put up with. And this was from women that had professional jobs with responsibility yet in their personal lives they were 13 year olds, more or less. Men and women are two species separated by a common language! Women generally use language to communicate emotions; men use it to communicate facts. A guy will ask his friend about how his first date went and he’ll say good, they had fun and he plans to see her again. That’s all that’s needed--transmission complete! The girl however will spend 30 minutes relating to a friend every nuance of how he asked her out, how she felt, what steps it took to get ready, etc. I’ve been married a long time and I’m still learning to communicate with my wife!

Communication with women is simply hard. They don’t explain. They state, make judgments, make demands, complain. It’s a mistake to tune them out, but it’s my default. So you need patience to draw them out. You have to be their therapist. They like this psychoanalytic stuff.

My wife gives answer to different question than I ask. Conversely, she asks a question and expects answer to different question. She thinks I'm messing with her when I answer the question she asks. It's amusing to me, but she's learning.
