One thing that holds back this sport is the poor coverage from time to time, how can a final from TWO years ago now be uploaded?

They sell the rights to a TV station in each country. The TVs pay a lot of money to the IAAF or the IOC (for Olympcs) and part of the agreement is the sporting organizations do not air these close to the events. That's why it takes two, three, or even four years before the footage is officially available online.

such a warrior is Guliyev - the things he has done since his junior days on a world stage. His junior 200 metres best was 20.04 when he'd just turned 19. Considering he had no opposition in his part of the world that's amazing. Azerbaijan has no track and field culture. He has a 19.76/200 PB and a sub 10/100 to his name. His coach/father died not long after his junior success and he was in the wilderness for a few years. He has showed his mettle and deserves every success. He hasn't really even had a world class squad around him in training - he did it through pure courage and determination. He'll always be one of my most respected sprinters. And his top 10 x 200m races average is 19.95 - not too shabby for a guy who lives in a nation with no real sprints culture, college system or sprint coaches and support staff.

congratulations for this comment. İ don't understand why People compare him with bolt or Blake. He did his best in this title as a white man. İt is harder to win those races as a white man. And he did it only with his hard working. He came to Turkey to have better conditions.Turkey has better conditions than Azerbaijan but actually it is not better than usa or britain. He has a success story. No matter what People say, He got gold medal and wrote his name to history.

@WARRIOR FIGHTER PAHLAWAN No man, the greatest track and field athlete of all time has a name: CARL LEWIS. Check right here on KZbin his performance on Tokyo 1991, when he was 30. After breaking the WR in the 100m, he was competing in the highest possible level in the long jump. Mike Powell had to break the WR in order to defeat him (Carl's first defeat in a decade). Could Bolt perform so well at the same time in two completely different events? BTW Could Bolt JUMP?

Bolt wasnt in shape, especially not for the 200m. I doubt he would've even broken 20.10 in this race
@omarholder9036
@omarholder9036 4 жыл бұрын
@FromRussiaWithLove Made up horshit? Stop trying so hard to be edgy. Bolt said he wanted to retire after Rio 2016. He was pressured to give it one more year. Bolt was just out of shape, but also out of focus. It's not that complex. I don't know nor care about whether the injury as you call it was fake. He was past his prime, doing a farewell tour for fans more than anything else. You can forgive one complacent year after cementing yourself as the GOAT for 8 years before that.

Without having read the comments yet, as a veteran track expert, and knowing that people who know nothing of the sport will comment, here are my predictions: 1) "This race was slow, and therefore the win is somehow worth less." [Championship races are not run for time - they are run for victory. That's all that matters. The many rounds of heats precludes fast times, as every knowledgable track fan knows] 2) "I only know the names of a few track athletes, so I'm going to compare everything to Usain Bolt." [Try to learn the names and records of 50 or so athletes, then come back. Talking about Bolt would be like going on a NBA video and saying, "Michael Jordan is the grooviest ever." If you don't know anything, don't say anything.
