The Men's 200m event got underway at 13:33 (local time) on August 21, 2021 at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field, two weeks after the Tokyo Olympic Games. One Olympic Finalist in the Men's 4x400m Relay: Olympic Gold Medalist Vernon Norwood (USA).
One Olympic Finalist in the Men's 400m Hurdles: Olympic Silver Medalist Rai Benjamin (USA).
Noah Lyles (USA) picked up where he left of and showed that his form was in an ascending path after his Olympic Bronze Medal-Winning performance in Tokyo, crossing the finish line in commanding fashion with a time of 19.52s, representing a World Lead, and a Meet Record for the American Star. His winning time of 19.52s represents an increase in time of 0.103% with respect to his Personal Best of 19.50 (Lausanne, Switzerland, 2019).
