It would've been the lack of clean baton passes and u can't put brianna on the back stretch that's too much work for her
@jojomargaux92953 жыл бұрын
I actually agree, because I outlined it the same on facebook days before the relay heats. Then I did say let Shelly anchored, because she’s more experienced with the anchor and she’s a 100 phenom. But ET was definitely needed on the 3 leg, with that curve ( bend). Brianna did an amazing job with that open leg.
@jojomargaux92953 жыл бұрын
They will have another shot at it before the season ends. So let’s pray they remain healthy and fit.
@wizzyboykponuglo3 жыл бұрын
No, Shelly Ann is faster on the third leg because it's the longest leg and she basically wins the race for her team, if she leading into the final handover.
@Dr.JudeAEMasonMD3 жыл бұрын
@@brandonclarke7059 Agreed. Had I been putting it together, I’d have put a Jackson first, because Pryce’s fast 100m start isn’t relevant for a first leg start on a bend. You want proven winner who is mentally tough under pressure for the anchor, like Thompson or Fraser-Pryce. Thompson is arguably the stronger 200 m runner at this point so it makes sense to put her the 3rd leg on the curve and Pryce on the end, in my *very* humble ex-college sprinter opinion.

Agreed. Seemed like he wanted to speak a Jamaican DQ into existence. American and British commentators rarely ever give Jamaica and smaller Caribbean countries their unequivocal props. And we heard here how that American clearly was hoping for a Jamaican DQ. Nothing new.

I think he owes us all an apology. I was quite stressed after his commentary suggesting the Jamaicans had fouled up.

Fun Fact: at least 8 of the 12 athletes on this podium are of Jamaican heritage. Of course the 4 Team Jamaica athletes Lol But also Gabby Thomas (USA) is of Jamaican heritage (via her father), Dina Asher-Smith (UK) via both parents, Daryll Neita (UK) via her parent and Asha Philip (UK) via her parent. All would have been eligible to run for Jamaica. I could be missing others too.

@@Raimund6602 Yes. The baton pass is the only reason we didn't shatter the record. Also, if Shelly was on the anchor and Shericka was on the 3rd leg, we would've most definitely shattered the record regardless of that first pass between Brianna and Elaine.
