That split wasn't quite 400m as that time was when he crossed the finish line which was actually only 388.5m. Still a very impressive split but not that fast.

south africa's anchor runner ran really smart- he stayed relaxed and even let the pack catch up a little so he'd have energy for the finish. it would have been tempting to take off fast going after the americans, but then he'd lave lost 2nd.

6:08 why would the Jamaican runner take the inside of Lane 1, when the final leg runner was at the end of the line 4, then at 6:18 have to slow way down to get to the outside to exchange the baton! That was not smart/tactical running
