I had some interest in it while attending the University of Arkansas for obvious reasons, but after I graduated I really lost track interest until this year when my daughter started running track in Jr. High School. Going to those meets was fun then we would go to high school meets just to see what was out there and living in Houston we could easily make it over to Austin for the high school state championships and now the NCAA championships. Top level track and field meets are incredible sporting events.

I was on mile relay in collegiate back in 1975 well the winning time in NCAA at that time was like 3:02 or so. And seeing teams running 2:57 and some change that out of this world . I watched the 400 and I was expecting Willie to win but his teammate won. I said wow 1 2 in the 400. I remember Jeremy Wariner and his teammate clocked a 44 something at the University of Oklahoma Big 12 championship and they won the mile relay as well as the National Championship. And Baylor was in the hunt now it’s Florida. That’s great recruiting and coaching. Hats off the Gators. LB June 12, 2023 Monday

Glad seeing Arizona State up there challenging. Georgia got screwed. Outside lane is the Kiss of Death.

I think they were missing their normal lead off man. It's the same guy who lead off at the World Championships last year.

My high school 4X440 team was a precipitously good team. Louis (Duck) Johnson did the first leg. Henry (Rookie) Dament ran the 2nd leg, Tomas ( Ratchet ) ran the Tri-Leg while Randall (T-Bone ) Sander the anchor leg and ran the 14th fastest race in school history in 3:34 placing eighth place. Epic!!

I have a couple questions I don't understand. 1. Do they start in the same spot as the open 400? 2. Why don't they stay in their lanes for the whole race?
@aroncampos5720
@aroncampos5720 Жыл бұрын
1. No the start is line is different. 2. They cut in after 3 turns because staying in lanes for 1600m would be crazy long staggered start lines
