This comment section doesnt deserve the knowledge that these videos put out. Distance, sprints, were getting to see coaches explain their process and training insight. I'm 34 and when I was In hs it was rare that any pros or college teams shared.
@ShaneRuns9 ай бұрын
I’m 44 and growing up we had nothing to reference and coaches were usually old football players who couldn’t run if they tried…World records will be crushed over the next decade and it’s not the “super shoes”…it’s the wealth of knowledge being provided to coaches and kids that would have only been just above “good” without such knowledge.

“We got three days recovery” now this is a smart coach. Run an extremely high quality workout, focusing on good mechanics and cues. And then let it absorb into the body. Lot of coaches can learn from this!

As a soccer player who doesn’t play much anymore but just picked up on running, this is the reason why. I miss training days where you were dead tired but knew you were improving. Haven’t gotten to speed training yet just working on getting the best hour run I can

How many days of recovery do they get between these workouts? Also what do they do on recovery days? I’m a high school coach that would like to apply some of these tough workouts. However I only have 3 days a week typically to workout. Most of our meets are on Friday. Our qualifying meets will be on Saturday’s though.
@yowhat-mo6xo8 ай бұрын
I don’t know about this school. But we do similar workouts such as 3 by 350 15 min rest at 42 -44. For me and we recovered for 3 days until we did another hard speed endurance workout. Keep in mind I was a middle distance runner running the 4by 4 in college. Put 4x4 ran 3:16. Our day the next day for me was easy run and strides. But sprinters was usually dynamic stretching, and some really light runs nothing crazy. So like 100 or 200s the guys were running mid 10s so they did their reps at 16s for 2 minute reps maybe 6 reps at max 12.
@yowhat-mo6xo8 ай бұрын
What a divorce I could give you tho I’d get your distance kids to run the 400 once in a while because speed is what you need. For example the mile wr is 3:43 that is 55 second laps so they must be fast at least 48 second 400 speed if not faster but I’m just saying get there speed fast to. A lot focus on the distance running and how far in miles.
