Not splitting the bill is based in old gender norms where the man is the provider. It sets an expectation onto men to fill a certain role and they in many cases feel obliged to do so If both people are cool with it - the man providing and the girl having her bill paid then it is positive The problem is when you expect men to do this as something men "should do". Just like when you expect a woman to stay at home, cook and clean, be subservient etc. We should really be moving forward with these traditional ideals and let people choose

It's a bit of a minefield subject. If the guy is rich and gets off on providing and pays for the whole bill each time, that's on that guy. Or heck, even if it's the opposite and the woman is wealthy and wants to do that, that's on her. And of course the other person should be grateful for it. But for us everyday working class guys, it can turn into a situation. If I go out on a date with a woman I just started dating and if she gets some expensive food when I do, that can be understandable to an extent, but if I get something reasonably cheap for myself and she gets something expensive, now there's an issue. Now we have an imbalance. I might feel some kind of way about it. It can lead to spite if she doesn't realize the issue because she just expects me to pay for it all regardless. And I'm not gonna play that stuff of her trying to make me the bad guy for not wanting to pay for her expensive meal. Nope. Money situations can sour a relationship really quick. That's why it's just simpler, easier, and hassle free for both involved to not even make it 50/50, but just each pays for their own tab. You can otherwise have a great relationship with someone where you click in so many ways, but if there's a financial responsibility imbalance it can still kill the relationship. Adults are supposed to be responsible for our own decisions. There's too many social contractual obligations that tries to makes things some kind of way and people say, "it's just always been done that way" or "a real man does x and y", but are just not logical or prudent.

they can say all they want but I think I have watched enough of the podcast and edits to create a decent ship for Maru + Sean and Nick + Cynthia. They even exposed themselves (Maru and Sean they use to have a crush on each other, Maru had a s** dream about Sean, when they talk to each other their voice changes...) However I would say that a ship is more of an expectation/hope. As someone older (who wonders how I found this side of the internet) I think long game a good relationship requires friendship or some level of sync-ness and sense of security and I think Maru + Sean and Nick + Cynthia end game makes sense to me, in my opinion.

Since you girls are talking about if your BF had a girl best friend, what if you're a guy, & your GF has a lesbian tomboy friend? One of our guys, his GF has a lesbian tomboy friend. She dresses like a guy, short haired like a guy, & is into girls, obviously. So whenever we hang out, that lesbian friend is always trying to flirty with our guy's GF, & she's like very hands-on flirty too, & she isn't shy about doing this in front of everyone. Our guy doesn't say anything about it, the GF doesn't say anything about it or she doesn't tell the lesbian to stop. Me & my friends have discussed this whenever our guy isn't around. We're all like, man, that lesbian is basically a dude, it's so wrong. Some of us have asked our guy how he feels about it too, & he said he doesn't care, because the lesbian is still a girl. I guess it generally is socially acceptable when girls are bi-curious with each other. But like we've been saying, she's a girl that likes girls, she acts & looks like a dude. I feel like it's wrong, I would not let a lesbian girl flirt & feel all up on my girl, it's basically like letting a guy do it. It's sexual harassment too, unless maybe the GF likes it or allows it. That's an ick for me. I also used to know a girl who is bi, we'll call her Bi. A while back, she was talking to another girl, we'll call her Les. They weren't dating but she liked Bi & they were kind of in a little situationship. Bi also happens to have a gay guy best friend. One time at the club, I guess Les thought the best friend was being too touchy with Bi, or she was just jealous of their friendship or something. So Les & her friends ended up jumping him.
