Dapper, I've just got to say your podcast have come at the right time for me. I'm sober 70 days today. My low point I was 8 weeks sober and thought one beer would be okay within the hour. A 8th of gear was ordered, then 3 days in, and a 1000 pound down again laying in the bath and wanting too die that was my low point and know thing's had to change and today I've never felt happier I just want too say thankyou

Would love if you could get an ex stoner/pothead on the show to talk about weed and it’s effects, been smoking for 7-8years EVERYDAY, about 4grams a day. I’m 22 days clean today from it, anyone who says weed isn’t addictive is lying I fell for that lie years ago and only managed to quit recently after years.

Love the videos, today is 102 days of me being clean from drugs after 18 years and I'm finding it harder and harder each day to carry on due to what's going on at home. The mother of my daughter drinks at least 7 pints a day everyday and refuses to accept she's got an issue . After months of me trying to support and help her I feel isolated and trapped in what can only be described as insanity! Every time I try to leave her she always tells me what I want to hear and as a mug I always believe her. I don't love this woman but she's the mother of our daughter . Some context our daughter doesn't live with us and when my partner gets drunk she blames me for everything that's went bad in her life, I'm totally stuck for what to do

I’ve listened to every episode in full since the start of this series and wow… There’s real growth with this one. Alex isn’t a social media bod or cod psychologist or b list celeb and thank god for that. There’s no ego in the room on this one.And without all that fake energy gassing up the room we’re finally hearing an honest account of addiction and life regained through sobriety. This will help a lot of suffering people.

I'm glad to see you're promoting sobriety. You dont remember me, but I actually came to a party with my friends at your house in Clapham. We were all from West London I remember your world map on the wall where the pool table was. Showing where you had visited doing comedy. It was just before your vines blew up. That party I made a fool of myself and took too much coke as usual and had to lay down in the front room, just so no one else would see the paranoid trip I was going thru. I no longer talk to any of those lads I came with, despite us all knowing each other from 5 years old. The main reason why they cut me off was because I was the only one who would develop a serious coke addiction - bouncing round rehabs and other institutions. I've been through mental health hospitals, dry houses, Christian rehabs and eventually the 12 step rehab in luton. That's what introduced me to meetings. I'm ashamed to say I'm still using. But seeing this podcast has inspired me to go to a CA/NA meeting this week. I'm no longer down south, I'm in Edinburgh. So thanks again for being proud of your recovery to promote it on KZbin - and inspiring me to give my head a wobble. Keep the content coming.

@@menacetosobrietypodcast top man. Went NA tonight. It felt good to get that new comer chip again. It's funny how the fellowships differ in different parts of the country. CA was the main one in Luton, but it was that busy that I could see it was really clicky, put me off 12 step for a bit. they used to crap all over NA calling it No Action, as they spend a bit more time on each step. But up here in Edinburgh NA seems to be the more prevalent one. And I realised tonight, Scottish addicts have some hilarious stories. Btw, cutting up the interviews to make shorts is a good idea, it's how I found your channel.

You guys have helped me realise that I'm not doing OK thinking I'm managing things because I'm only doing crack every 4 to 6 weeks. Its better than when I was sniffing as soon as I woke up until I was washing up in the afternoon. But, you're helping me realise I've not really let it go, I'm fooling myself. I can only fight against the thoughts for afew weeks then I'm burning the spoon and on the end of a pipe for 12 hours

Been sober for 4 years now. As far as alcohol goes, I think you only really have the choice over whether to have that first drink or not. Once the first drink is gone, the decision isn't yours anymore. Alcohol takes that away from you. The good news is that you can take that control away from him by simply not having that first drink. Let me tell you that not having had a hangover for 4 years feels amazing.
