2021 and just picked up a 2000 CBR600F (Ultima light). One owner from new, immaculate and 15k on the clock. The last time I rode something 21 years old it got me in nearly as much trouble as this will. Honda build quality 👌🏼

@@HalfdeadRider Still some very nice old ZX9R's around,I borrowed one for a day but too much for my ancient dodgy wrists. Nicest bike I've ever ridden was one of the last carb'd Fireblades, couldn't believe how easy it was to ride and how comfortable.
@HalfdeadRider
@HalfdeadRider Жыл бұрын
@@dave8204 The ZX9r's are very comfortable for sportbikes, as long as you keep relaxed arms and a light grip, you should not have an issue with wrist pain, I never have. Mine is a beast of a bike still, keeps with modern bikes no problem, definitely better than the old blades imo. Click on my name to take a look if you like, nice pics on my banner and plenty of vids.

@@HalfdeadRider I had a 2000 ZX-9R....great bike. I much prefer the larger, bulbous look and feel of those older bikes over these tiny new ones. I recently sat on a '22 GSXR-750 and couldn't believe how small it was. Felt like a toy machine

Youd love mine. I completely rebuilt the engine top to bottom, 100% of it. Yes that includes bolts and nuts too. I'm giving it to my son when he turns 16. I gotta say its sexy for a banana seat. The motor was so beautiful upon recounting. Good for another 100k kilometers.

I wanted a ZZR6 when they first came out. I did eventually get one many years later, and the one I got had been absolutely hammered, used and abused. The thing is, that I also treated it like a piece of dirt and it never EVER let me down. Actually, I will be honest, it did fail, but the cause was the vaccuum pipe got heated and split, thus causing the fuel to fail to get to the carb. I cured this by snipping the pipe and it cured it for another year or so... It wwent again and I instantly knew hwo to cure it, but this time the pipe could not fully reach as Isnipped a bit too much off... I replaced it with a brand new pipe and it never let me down again. One time, I even stripped the whole bike down, to rebuild it with all clean bits etc, and the shed blew down in the wind.. The entire bike was them duped in the garden for about 8 months, including the enginer bewing left without the top end on. Then, one day, I decided to see if it could be fixed up rather than dumped and I got the engine running and so I put it all together again, and it ran withotu issues for another year or two and I sold it off. Only two months ago, I was looking at getting another... It was selling in a local bike shop, I made the decision to get it, but it had been sold. The wife also said that she missed the ZZR cos it was a comfy enough bike to go a distance and yet loney enough to make up grin like a pair of psychos.

Thundercats are awsome and fantastic value for money. Big for a 600 and can wallop a punch, comfy and fast in its day, but not in todays league. Want something big, but middle weight, cheap and reliable have the thundercat. Ive also had the bigger brother the thunderace however the thundercat tends to have a bigger following.

@@akdem4261 I never seem to have much problem with the thundercat, CBR are easier around corners as they're lighter and if it is the sport CBR they're not as tall either, all points that makes it easier to corner.. Bear in mind, the Thundercat is a tall heavy bike for a 600..

My god, the Italians were so far ahead of the rest of the world style wise. Just look at that Ducati 748 (1994), still a sexy beast 21 years later. The first gen R1s took their styling cues from bikes like this, but the first R1s didn't roll off the factory floor until 4 years later.

After the 1st lockdown i decided to go through my bucket list of iconic bikes. Now after 2 years and 10 bikes later I can safely say the top 3 ive had imo are all below 750cc and the power performance and handling that you can get nowadays from a 600 have almost made the 1000cc obsolete and unnecessary (I also own A 2010 Fz1s 1000cc & Gsxr k2).. I generally prefer driving my 600s as they are so much easier to handle around town and if I want to do some street racing...I just sold my track zx6R though picked up a really low mileage CBR 600 F3 which was the last steel frame carburettor one. .Even though its 215kg & getting a tad old now it still feels surprisingly nimble and mid range 'power band's is wild!( it's 99% original apart from the exhaust which apparently adds almost 10% extra power, I've had it reading 169mph it doesn't feel necessary to add a power commander although I have been toying with the idea although I would say the CBR at least for me is the best of them all and they're so reliable
@uhtred7860
@uhtred7860 Жыл бұрын
A Power commander won't do jack shit to a carbureted bike, as its a fuel injection adjustment module, and if the bike doesnt have fuel injection, which the CBR600F3 doesnt, then there is no benefit.

@@seanhayes6097 Wish i could find a nice CBR600F4i Sport (we only got the sport model here in NZ) The best bike i ever rode was an ex Ten Kate Racing F4i Sport that a British guy had bought from them when they started racing the RR. He later emigrated to NZ around 05 and thats when i be-friended him. What a bike, it was set up perfect, and made enough power to easily keep up with GSX-R750s of the time.

I found the cbr a little to busy for everyday riding and ultimately disappointing compared to my 8 year old vfr 400 rr:) I sold my cbr600f 2000 model ultima light and bought a 1997 VTR1000F FIRESTORM and I have never looked back lol :) The VTR is a true power house from any revs and it feels and handles better than my old cbr 600. PS the big V TWIN propelled me in and out of corners like a DEMON:) I must admit this bike is not for the novice or the faint hearted but I WILL ADMIT THE RIDE IS INTOXICATING IN EXHAUST SOUND AND PUREPOWER, never again will this machine be made:) I ride LOUD AND PROUD:)

Well i had them all, and lett me tel you this. Honda. nr1 never brakes down and low cost. Yamaha.thundercat .nr2 almost just as good as a honda. Now the rest. Yamaha r6 broke down at 21.000 kilometer also weight of the bike is wrong to use normal. Kawasaki horrible. First the engine sounds if i forgot my tools in the engine. Second. The brake disk broke down, cannot handle the pressure when you use it sporty. And last bud very bad, my frame broke down there where tears in the frame. And yes i bought it new ! Suzuki nice bike bud only for small riders, they use alot of old tech. Then Ducati, stay away from this shit bike. On track day they go home with a truck becose they all brake down. Whe in the Netherlands call it the stukgaattie. 🤣 A real horrible motorcycle. Keep in mind i had all these bikes myself and new. Honda great nr1 Yamaha close nr2 The rest is worse. One thing for you motor lovers. Stay far away from the yamahw r1 first 3 years 1999 and so on. These engine,s after 30.000 kilometer can go to the scrapyard. If you use them to the max. Horrible. After 2002 they get better. Good luck .
