That is something else. When anyone saw this jacket, they would think it cost thousands.

Thank you Katherine! I'm happy to know that it helps! And yeah, the deers come to our window every morning, I only hope they don't eat my veggies in the summer. :)

I am fast falling in love with this type of mending and what it teaches us about how we should care for and love our clothing and homewares. My friend (dog) has chewed through the top layer of his bed. I am totally going to make a pretty patch for him and me to enjoy. what I like is that I can creat the patch before I even have to sew it onto the bed, so for him, there is no downtime.

Thank you! This is always the best thing I want hear - people start thinking about mending items instead of buying new ones! and treasure what they have at the moment! Thank you so much for telling me this!

I really like this one! It seems to work in a way which emphasises the sashiko pattern but in quite a precise end result, where you can really appreciate the graphic element. My background is graphics and illustration, so this appeals to me especially.

Hello! 🙋🏻♀️ I’m wondering if you would use this method for a fine woollen jumper or would you recommend another method instead? ☮️💟
@XiaoxiaoYarn2 ай бұрын
Hi! Sashiko isn't ideal for fine wool. For your jumper, I'd recommend darning instead. It's gentler on wool fibers and blends better. Try looking up some darning tutorials for wool garments online. They'll guide you through repairing your jumper while preserving its softness.
@jeremynicoletti90605 ай бұрын
isn't doing it that way defeating the point of all those strong stitches? If you stitch through you'll actually reinforce the garment. Why do it this way?

Hi, the piece I mended is a very thick winter jacket. So I chose to add patches instead of sewing them together. Also, we live in a cold country, and we clean our winter jackets every season or even longer. :)
