Why does everyone always stick to one channel and say their videos are great, but I'm just here switching from Khan Academy to CrashCourse to Bozeman Science. And when that doesn't work out, I go to some 15 minute video of a poor teacher who needs a better micrphone or something when explaining the topic

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but, in 3:36 it's not accurate to infer the genetics of the flower's parents. They could as well be Pp and pp and the flower in question be the Pp combination. Not necessarily were the parents PP and pp. It's just important because those details give you the feeling there's something that doesn't add up. Or I may be wrong as well.

Hi Mr Anderson , its basically great to watch your video's, and really helpful.
@gunsgalore757110 ай бұрын
Mr. Anderson was very correct when he said it would be really interesting for these two men to meet. He didn't mention this in the video, but Gregor Mendel was a Catholic friar of the Augustinian order, a man who embraced both religion and science at the same time - for him they were perfectly consistent. Meanwhile, Darwin publicly and fervently rejected religion in favor of science. They were each committed to science but had profoundly different ideas about its impact on society and social life. A conversation between them would have been enlightening for many.

I'm confused... so how does the 3:1 ratio in the F2 generation at 2:49 disprove the idea of blending?
@Akoalawithshades11 жыл бұрын
P = purple which is domiant p = white. PP Pp pP pp only one in three is pure white genes, purple is dominant so only one becomes white.
@Akoalawithshades11 жыл бұрын
So I guess it doesn't remove blending it just means it doesn't always happen, against typical thought

@@steniedafreak why can't we add it Then it becomes 2/4. Bcoz when we draw a cross using gametes we get 2:4 ratio I.e., RRRr, RrYy, RRRr, RrYy (2/4)

@mouzaalmualla30848 жыл бұрын
he didn't add the two fractions, he multiplied them :). (1/2 * 1/2)= 1/4. You only add the fractions if the two results are dependent on each other, and multiply them if they are independent of each other. In this example, roundness/wrinkliness did not depend on colour and vice versa, so you would multiply.
