I get what you are saying but isn‘t that Song more about Barrie-James O‘Neil. How he wanted her sadder like she talks about in Fishtail? He talked about how that and their codependents was a problem. And she said that in MAC is about a time when her then boyfriend told her in front of the MAC, that he thinks that they are together because they bothe are like broken. She really didn’t like that, because she felt she wasn‘t broken but he needed her to be.

I find it interesting that people would say “this therapist needs a therapist”. As a psychotherapist myself, it’s essencial that we take care of our emotions, so yes, even therapists need to go to therapy! That’s not a sign of weakness or not being able to do your job, but because our profession can cause strains in our own emotional health… we lend an empathetic ear to someone who’s suffering and that has an impact on us! If it wasn’t for that, if it didn’t had an impact on us, we wouldn’t have become therapists in the first place. I struggle with depression and I need to take care of myself in order to take care of my patients, I need to be honest with my own emotions in order to help others. So, don’t be afraid to show your emotions. I love your videos mainly because you’re so authentic and you’re not afraid to share what’s on your mind. And you’re able to do that while respecting your own boundaries. That sends a powerful message for others. I love your videos reacting to Lana’s music, can’t wait to see the next ones. Much love ❤

Another interpretation for the “Wearing nothing but the summer bruises on my knees” lyric could be that she was always having to beg the person for their attention. So my mind goes to summer vibes, going out with friends, taking trips. She she felt she was figuratively always having to “be on her knees” to get their attention and the time she used sucking up to this person outweighed the time of attention she was given in return. So it kinda is used in every way possible

People tend to forget that feelings and emotions are universal and having a professional career in x,y, or z field doesn't change that. On these videos you're using your knowledge to analyze a song, you're not giving therapy to a patient, you're allowed to react and show your emotions. Maybe the haters would benefit of doing the same instead of projecting their insecurities on someone online. Keep the good work.

I think here Lana is kinda referring to her fans by saying "you wanted me sadder" cuz most fans want her to release albums like her previous records "born to die" and "ultraviolence". she was sad during those eras because of her boyfriend and family issues. however, she says she is ultimately happy and loves making this kind of music

My fav song on the album! To me, it’s peak sad girl energy which I’m 1000% about from an aesthetic standpoint. As a long time Lana stan, it takes me back a bit…BUT it’s even better, because there’s a twist and an evolution from her previous work…it’s sad, but unlike before, it’s the moment a sad girl realizes she no longer needs to accept mistreatment. It’s a pivotal moment where someone who has endured consistent abuse realizes their autonomy and their self-worth, and decides to stand up for themself. There’s something triumphant about it…the guts it takes to turn it around and tell your abuser, “don’t you dare”? To be suppressed and told you’re not that smart, but to stand up and say “I’ve got things to say” anyway? Powerful shit…or maybe I’m just nuts

Hi, love your reactions!! For me, this song has a clear message for her fans. Theres a lot os references to her songs, including old unreleased ones, that most of her old fans know: Skipping rope: before become Lana del Rey, one of her artistic names was Sparkle jump rope queen, maybe she's pointing to that time when her lyrics were about drugs, toxic relationships, suicide, live in the edge.. She also have a song called "Put me in a movie", that says "you're my little sparkle jump rope queen.. Come on you know you like little girls... You know I can't make it on my own", so it also could be a reference to this line, as she saying she did it by her own, but the path or the finish line was a little "dark" as she continues "slip softly into rain" Palms trees in b&w: she has a old song very known called "Jump" (you can watch the music video in her Lizzy Grant Vevo channel), that says: "Palm trees in black and white Last thing I saw before I died Right line, right man Right mixture of cocaine and heroin" So, for me, she's talking about that dark times when she wanted to do drugs and end herself, the wrong men, etc. She likes to watch these palm trees in balck&white, but now she sees them in technocolor, bright. "lately I've been thinking about how things used to be" : almost the same sentence in her song "Change", it seems clear that she wants to change from how it used to be, to a new life, new lyrics, and happiness. "Swinging in a nightgown" : from her song "hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but I have". It's a deep song that talks about her feelings and how she felt. In that song she says she's not happy, but neither sad. It seems so clear what she wants to transmit, she still have hope, she's not sad anymore. For me, in this song she's screaming to her fans that in this album she put all the sad and dark things out but thats it, she don't want to do it anymore. They want her sad and sad songs, she can see it know and she's saying that please, don't say you worry about her when all you want is her to be suffering and singing about it, accept her now. For me it's important that following this song we have Peppers: a happy and lively song, that reminds a lot her old lizzy grant songs, and makes you wanna dance. Peppers lyrics says "take a minut to yourself, skinny-dip in my mind, I'm in love (...) I'll bring the coffee if you bring the wine) - she connect it with Kintsugi (I just need to seconds to be me) , she's taking the moment to be herself and finally do what she wants with her music, she's letting everybody skinny-dipping in her mind, she's in love with life. Also very important that's she'll bring the coffee, she's not gonna think about drinking anymore, she don't need it (remember she had alcohol addiction at 14 and been sober for more than 20 years and problems with drugs, that she was very tented to use along this album). Elizabeth Grant is back, with her essence. ❤

This song really reminds me of her song Pretty When You Cry in which she says “you don’t come through, babe because I’m pretty when I cry”. It’s the same idea of her partner wanting her to be sadder and her not being strong enough to say what she really wants to. In the song she also says “I’m stronger than all my men except for you… I can’t do it but you do it well because I’m pretty when I cry”.

Hi there! I just started following your Lana reactions as a therapist and I've loved you. Please, don't feel bad just because people have a closed minded relationship with therapy, EVERYONE needs therapy, especially therapists who have to help people with messed up stories so much. Thankfully, mental health is becoming to be a matter of awareness, little by little, we've been living in a broken world since the dawn of time and it has taken a toll, it's only natural wanting to get help in order to get better. The other misconception is that being a therapist yourself you are immune to things like that what happened with your soon to be ex husband (thank God). Anyways I just wanted to give you the proper admiration you deserve for having the courage to get out, get help and start over again and may your path be filled with blessings 🙏🏻

A really unfortunate predicament that society finds itself in today is the fact that people think that your emotions are something to be controlled. I think that having a therapist that is open with her emotions and is able to help others by being sympathetic and helping them process their own emotions that they don’t know how to deal with is a blessing. I only hope that therapists who are empaths know how to deal with the trauma that is being dumped onto them.

I interpret the “fishtail” part very similar to what you described- more so in an intimate way. “Don’t you dare say that you’ll braid my hair” is a way to resemble her most likely being intimate with her partner. The intimacy being the glue keeping this all together. The powerful thing about music and especially Lana as a songwriter.. is it can all be interpreted in so many different ways. There’s always so much more to decide and analyze with each listen. Lana is one of the best artists and songwriters of this generations and for generations to come.

Im the one who once commented "We need a therapist for the therapist" and i think u got me wrong. I also cried listening to Fingertips and i joked about needing a therapist after it. I thought it was funny that you were a therapist yourself so i just said that, didnt mean it in the way youre framing it.

for me, this song is the classic silent treatment. especially the Victorian thing. "we are always quiet, talk to me!!!!!" and then the lyric "I like how you talk, how you speak", so appreciating when he actually is communicating with her. and then the chorus, don't just say I'm not the one. usually people who give the silent treatment don't care how they say things, or do I say, care in the point of wanting to hurt

I am incredibly late, but fishtail is one of my all time favourite lana songs since the new album came out. The lyrics just really seem to 'speak' to me and the one lyric that really stuck with me was "you're so funny, I wish I could skinny dip inside your mind". It's just such a powerful song and makes me cry almost every time (written before I watched the video)

I just wanted to say how beautiful you are, I have just subscribed to your channel because these Lana breakdowns are everything 💕 whatever’s going on in your life don’t listen to whoever is being unkind. If Lana taught me anything it’s the importance of being soft in hard situations, if that makes sense. ❤

Therapist have feeling and lives too! Of course ur going to have emotional! We are all human with different things going on in our lives. Just because that song doesn’t make them emotional or don’t connect with the song or artist doesn’t mean someone else won’t. It’s upsets me when I see someone post nasty comments, I just people would be nice. My mum used to say to me if you don’t have something nice to say then something at all. 💖 I feel her pain 🥺

11:18 the whole song I was fine but this was a trigger. I know this mindset. Sometimes you wanna change someone’s reaction but you don’t know how. And you use the only tools you got but the other party already thinks they know everything. But you love them and will give them all you got left. To them I’m creative but brooding. To them I’m spiritually aware but lacking in experience. They were older after all…they wanted me sadder because they had nothing and wanted me to be their everything. I would’ve been. But being degraded over time becomes numbing.

Some people believe that showing emotion or not always being happy is weak or unhealthy. When in reality it is a part of the human experience to feel pain and sadness. Sometimes exploring that sadness makes you a healthier individual because it gives you perspective on yourself and others. Of course therapists shouldn’t be emotionless.

hi! um, i'm sorry, i don't really leave comments on yt that often, i don't know you that well and i've just seen a couple of your videos, but i feel like you should know this: so, the videos i saw from you were the reactions to taylor's songs (right now i'm on the lana playlist bcuz, since i'm here, what more damage could it bring?) and i've seen you being emotional to some songs, what i really apreciate. i'm totally the type to cry over sad songs but it feels so silly that makes me feel kinda of weak(?) and embarrassed, so seeing someone else feeling the same way allowed me to think that it's ok to cry, specially over taylor, that girl knows how to make a song that brings all out. well, i just tought that it would be good for you to hear/read/know that is ok to cry and be emotional too, since you helped me think like that. your feelings are totally valid and you're very strong for being able to expose them, along with your personal life. just to reinforce, i'm not that good at english, but i hope you get me. have a nice life, since i doubt i will build up the courage to write another comment in this life
