Great Coffee slurping, I’ve missed it, we need more 😀 Yet another great subject, and thanks for the weathering tip re the metal, so much better than chipping, and can’t wait to give that a go. It’s so more gradual, and I will use this on the wings of the P38. Thanks as always for sharing your work 👍🏻☕️ Jason 🇬🇧

With all thats going on, this one made my day! Although not my favorite subject this is by far my favorite tutorial channel and the added extra bonus was to see that beautiful Ringo! Now that its 65 degrees in Florida I will be staying indoors more to keep from freezing and will be in need of some quality programming so I look forward to the next episode......featuring Ringo again, I hope!!!

In reference to the comments on the longevity of these aircraft, those big tanks on either side of the pilot are the fuel and/or oxidizer tanks. That big "wire" coming out of it is the fuel line. Any damage to these tanks or lines resulted in the pilot being dissolved in his seat. Pretty grim. Very nice work, as usual!

The 3D effect of those seatbelts look really good! Very realistic. I have up to now avoided the paper type just on general principles. Will definitely have to give them a try. Hope they make them for wwii planes as well. Good job!

If you like doing small details like the seatbelts; get a set of Bergeon watchmaker tweezers. You can get them off Amazon, as well. But, they are insanely priced. I paid about $37 for one pair. But, I don't know how I modeled before I had them. They are THAT good! Good job, by the way.

Ringo is definitely getting big! Reminds me of my sister-in-law's pup. One day he fits in your lap, the next day he barely fits in the car! Another great start to an interesting build. Great demo of the HGW seatbelts--tedious but there's nothing better if you really want them to look real. Go Illini from Western New York! LOL

Hey. Now more than ever do I need some fresh, top quality Primedmodelworks videos! Its the only thing that will get me through these coming days! Theres a lot of good ones out there but you are by far my favorite and IMHO the most entertaining! You should do a Christmas request build for the upcoming season and then auction on ebay for a gift! Or maybe just one of your amazing display bases! Anyway, looking forward to the next installment and a guest appearance by Ringo! Cheers!

Here it is, couldnt wait for this build to start😎. The cockpit looks awesome, great job. Wondering how the Panzerglassscheibe in the front will turn out. Have you choosen a paint scheme yet? The lovely walter HWK engine will be a challenge. Would love to see a dedicated episode on this😎. Keep on the good work and thanks for sharing it

Those seatbelts are easier to work with if you cut the buckles off the fret AFTER you thread the belt through. I read that somewhere.

Have you tried PTFE thread seal tape? (plumber's tape) for straps. You just nick the end and it pulls apart in a perfect straight line.

When doing HGW belts I find it much easier to thread the straps through the buckles before cutting the buckles off the tree

Question about the chipping and weathering you have done on the cockpit. The ME-163 was introduced relatively late in the war and wasn't known for many uses of the same plane. My father was a Luftwaffe pilot during the war and he told me that most Luftwaffe pilots considered the ME-163 as a "one-way" mission. Does any of your research show high levels of weathering and chipping or is it more realistic to show the cockpit and plane as relatively unused? Great work and really enjoyed your Harrier build.
@seanerk5kt94 жыл бұрын
It might be more realistic to keep it clean but that would make for a boring model in my opinion
@andrewgowing98154 жыл бұрын
Looks great. Just curious - wouldn't it be easier to paint the canopy frame separately, then attach it to the canopy?...

Since I’m shipping it, I thought it’d be best to use Tamiya extra thin to hammer it down. I’m afraid pva glue would come loose in the mail

HOLY MOLY! RINGO IS GETTIN' BIG! Coffee = no puppy love. HA! HGW belts are my go to for my P-47's{1/48th & 1/32nd} and my Tamiya 1/32nd Spits. Yes, they can be a pain to thread thru the buckles. 'Cmon now, who doesn't like to see a fellow modeler struggle & use bad words?! Pit looks good, I like the IP especially. Good start. BUT THAT'S NOT A TOMCAT!!!!! No love for the 'Cat already TISK TISK!

Nice video! One comment though, you used Tamiya Panzer Gray which is their interpretation of RAL7021 Grau, used for German army vehicles and navy ships but not for Luftwaffe (Air Force) aircraft which was specified to be painted RLM66 Schwartzgrau in the Me-163B. RAL7021 is a bluer tint of medium gray than RLM Schwartzgrau a darker shade of neutral gray. which is interpret as XF24 Tamiya Dark Gray. I understand color is subjective but RLM66 is not the same as RAL7021, nor is XF24 the same as XF63. A airplane is not a tank and shouldn't be painted like one.
@seanerk5kt9 Жыл бұрын
Tamiya doesn’t have Panzer Gray. And out of everyone in the entire world, you are the only one that cares about the color I used on this model.
