I've been playing a lot... But this is literally my first ever deep dive, and I decided to do it solo scout cause why not? Scout is my favorite class.
Unsure if I'll upload more footage or not (seems like a better streaming game - streaming soon maybe? - and not really a video series game). Maybe if I find a regular group/partner for duo's who doesn't mind being in the recording?

Randomly stumbled upon this channel, and I think this may have been my very first deep dive, actually! It's pretty cool to see what the steam controller's capable of and I'm hoping to get one for myself sometime soon.

What a coincidence. I just started digging deeper into SC. I bought one when they first came out but never got into it. I was just playing this game last night with it and trying to figure out a good config. I also just found your videos today on SC. Are you using Gyro on right pad touch? Also, what are your gyro settings? Or if possible can I just see your SC config? Edit: nm I see your config in the description!

So my config may not work exactly as shown in the video, based on what in game settings you are using. You'll need to set the in game x axis mouse sensitivity to 1.4 and the y axis mouse sensitivity to 2.0. You'll also need to play at 120 fov, as thats what I play at and drg scales sensitivity based on fov. And of course disabling mouse smoothing. If you use different settings, you may have to adjust sensitivity settings in steam. I have also done some minor tweaks since then. Anyway... ROCK AND STONE!

@@Mennenth thank you for the detailed response. I will check all that out. Your reply made me think of another question. Is there a guide for dealing with in game sensitivity while adjusting sensitivities in steam input for the SC? Is there a rule to turn down in game sensitivities when adjusting that stuff or is just per game basis? Also, do you know of any other KZbin channels or videos or places I could get more info on SC configs? I’ve watched a bunch of RambeTan and the SC subreddit.

@@FrankDavis there is a general idea that you should maximize steam sensitivity and minimize in game sensitivity, however this is not always ideal as you could run into a situation where menus become uncontrollable due to the cursor flying around. its up to you for what you want to prioritize. I typically just full send it anyway; I start by maximizing steam trackpad sensitivity and then adjusting the in game sensitivity until the result of a full horizontal swipe on the pad does a full 360 degree turn in game. then I calibrate for the games "dots per 360" setting for gyro, more details about that will be in a future video. once thats dialed in, I use a gyro sensitivity of 8x... which means if I physically rotate the controller a full 360 degrees, the game camera does eight 360 degree turns. I'm what could be considered a high sensitivity player. The average sc user has the pad set up to do a 180 on full swipe, and the average gyro user hovers around 4x there (though there does seem to be a trend that as one gets more experienced with gyro, one is more likely to go higher sensitivity). DoubleJumpPunch is a newer channel doing steam input stuff. they focus more on the Deck, but some ideas are transferable. As mentioned, I am working on a couple of videos... but life gets in the way for me these days.

Hi there. Thanks for the video. I am about to go controller + gyro with the Scout. Is accuracy reliable? I am pretty new to FPS and I hope to keep at DRP with a controller.

I think it is. It comes down to practice though. If you are new to gyro, you'll have to play around to find a sensitivity that works for you.
