HAHAHAHAHAH! YOUR HUSBAND IS A BLAST!! Kudos to both of you for taking SO much time to provide the best information on Menopause. I've NEVER come across a doctor like you in my life! Oh, you make me feel so good. Thank you, my dear. I can tell you this: Nothing has ever made me happier than helping women. I'll do absolutely anything to make things better for as many menopausal women as I can. Right now, I'm expanding my services to include seminars (both live and in DVD and other on-demand formats) and one-on-one consulting services. The fact is that I am the only person I know who is doing anything like this. So that means I have a lot of work to do.

Menopause Barbie I have no doubt in my mind that you will accomplish your dream of reaching out to other woman. The mere fact you've put all this time into making 35 videos shows me that you of all women can do this! I'm waiting to receive your book from Amazon, "Honey, I'm Home". Just reading the description is so exciting!!! Can't wait to read it :-). Side bar; you can be an inspiration to other physicians to help women finally understand the metamorphosis they go through in life ;-). I'm rooting for you from my neck of the woods!

Its in our hands to change how the world will see women over 50. We do a great dis-service to everyone when we go along with old, tired, negative attitudes about a woman's worth being focused on youth/sexiness only. Those attitudes bring everyone down. Thank you MT

Although I am not menopausal (at 47) and do not have any of the 'symptoms' yet, I believe in being prepared and your informative videos and book are helping me a great deal. I was fortunate that my mother told me long ago the different aspects of being a woman and not to dread or fear the changes that would occur either through beginning my period or facing menopause. I truly believe that having that information so early on allowed me to enjoy all the aspects and so I will not dread nor fear menopause. I will face it and even embrace it as another step in my journey. Thank you so much for the wisdom & guidance that you offer 😊

I also get pedicures weekly and I get rainbow color. Everyone thinks it funny but instead of being stuck on one color I use many colors! Identity should come much earlier in life but I know some women are identified by their kids or something. I learned to say no at age 16. I am a rape survivor and people know not to violate my boundaries. GladI have you and I am tempted to skip ahead to other subjects but I am watching these in order. But what you said is a confirmation!

I appreciate all the hard work you and your husband do to get these videos out. Love your vintage style. I need to start walking again, I lost a ton of weight but mostly I felt emotionally better. I suffer with severe depression/or maybe it’s menopause, I lost my daughter 7 years ago and have been so depressed since…. However I’m now growing a beard!!!!! Must be menopause. I’m 41. Routine is the key I think. I’ve stopped showering and self care. I really need to help myself. I’ve created a schedule to remind me to take care of me and my home. I’ve totally lost all joy in everything. Lost my identity. I’m so stuck in this rut. I’m a mother and wife, daughter, sister and aunt… but lost who I am

Well, living in different countries is an education like no other, and I highly recommend it. However, now that I have lived on eery continent except Antarctica (and some of them multiple times), I have stopped the annual moves. They were a lot of works, and now that this business has taken off, I am just so passionate about doing it that I've decided to stop moving. I will certainly spend long stretches of time in other countries occasionally, but they won't be "moves." I am so glad you're getting this education the right way.

It's so true that learning to say no is crucial. You cannot live life trying to meet a laundry list of expectations while sacrificing your own well-being. I had to learn this lesson very early in life because I'm autistic and it has been an absolute lifesaver in terms of managing my daily stress level. Knowing my limits and not feeling guilty about turning down an offer or leaving early when I'm totally tapped out is completely liberating.

Well, Dr. Taylor, I was a terrific patient. Love my new Dr. She spent lots of time with me and "downloaded" a great deal of information. Because I am educated by the Amazing Dr. Taylor, I able to really "hear" ALL of what she had to say because everything she was saying, I had heard from you first. No surprises for me. Like you, she highlighted the importance of good diet and exercise - she especially supports veganism. AND OF COURSE, I told her about you when she asked me how I had so much info. I happily told her about you and your background and the goal of your YOUTube channel. She thought that it was great...and she wrote down your channel name and indicated that she will pass your info onto her patient. She was happy for me that I found you. I also told her nurse who worked with me pre and post appt as well. I felt so good about my time there and less nervous about discussing my issues with my Dr. For some reason, I got emotional and I hugged her as I left. Thanks to you, I was a great patient, responsive to what she was saying and clear headed. I was able to make good decisions FOR ME....thanks to YOU. Look forward to your next video. Thanks, Nancy

Thank you Barbie, what I like the most is, say not to sleep over. Usually the holidays are very tiring, I do not relax or enjoy them.
@MenopauseTaylor8 жыл бұрын
Psychiatrists will tell you that holidays are the most stressful time of the year. The rates of nervous breakdowns and suicide skyrocket. Why? Because you go visit all the people (family) you've actively avoided all year, stay in the same house with them, take turns in the too-tiny bathroom, pretend that you're still "Little Laura," and try to act like you're happy about it. The truth is that you're not "Little Laura." You're grown-up, independent Laura with her own issues that you can't dare talk about because it will ruin the holidays for everyone else. Oh, and everyone expects you to join in the commercial gift-giving frenzy so that everyone can receive a bunch of junk from people who don't have a clue what they want. You're not alone in your feelings about the holidays. Too bad we don't just say, "You know, I'm not going to stress myself out. I'll stay home, and I'm not going to participate in the gift exchange."

@MenopauseTaylor8 жыл бұрын
Step 1 is to have your gynecologist assess your periods. Please talk to your gynecologic about the way you're feeling, too. Ask for some help. This may be purely hormonal. If not, you've got some work to do to figure out what it's about and how to change it. You are much too important to spend even one second thinking otherwise. I wish I could hug you right now.

@@MenopauseTaylor Wow! I didn‘t expect to get a response from you! Very kind! I have quietly been watching your videos, from the start, as instructed, just the last week or so. I don‘t remember where on youtube I found out about you and your video „courses“, and all the rest, but along with other information from other doctors I have found here (there is Dr. Louise Newson from Britain, and Dr. Sheila de Liz, an American doctor who practices in Germany where I live, but not in my city, unfortunately) I am finally beginning to feel like I may be able to help myself. I am now 52, and have had noticeable symptoms (similar to bladder infection or itching, or general discomfort) for about the last 2 and a half or more years. Still getting my period nearly regularly, though not at all heavy, but my body is definitely changing. I was one of those people who was very much against taking any „medication“ or extra stuff, but as the symptoms worsen, I have been getting desperate, with the pain and discomfort which comes rather unexpectedly in general, and the negative psychological effects. I do take a twice weekly suppository which helps the PH balance and has a small amount of „Estriol“ (don‘t know the equivalent in English). Now the last gynaecologist I went to said I may have something called Lichen Sclerosis and prescribed cortisone, to take over 9 weeks, to be applied less frequently every 3 weeks. It kind of helps lessen the discomfort, but not always. Well, after listening to many of Dr. Newson‘s videos and podcasts, as well as your videos here, I am nearly certain now that I want to ask for HRT (estrogen). I am now convinced that the benefits far outweigh the possible side effects. Also, my mother had many bad breaks in the last 10 years of her life, and I want to try to prevent this. Not to mention other things like dementia and heart disease. I have passed on your videos and others to my sisters (who are both mostly through it all, but even the one who is in her mid 60‘s could benefit) and many friends. One of the best things about your videos, I think is that you go through the information fairly slowly, which makes it more likely that even I (who listen and watch while cleaning up or cooking) can retain most of the info. But even more is this: I know now to stand up to doctors and gynaecologists who try to prescribe things that make it worse (the urologist I was sent to, with terrible results). Also not to put up with being treated like this is some rare kind of unknown thing, or that I am exaggerating! So now, I am going to try to get through more of your videos until my appointment with a gynaecologist who I believe seemed to be open minded. Wish me luck, and thank you again for putting SO MUCH time and EFFORT into your work. It really does help, as you know! Stay well, both of you!
