It is interesting how LH and FSH are rarely talked about in my experience - mostly just estrogen and progesterone. I guess if I had dug more I could have found this information however the way you explain it is so much more clear. I consider myself a knowledgeable individual but so ignorant of my own body. You are truly a godsend. Thank you. My Gyno Doc was suggesting pellets for hormones but I've resisted simply because I'm not trusting of the affects, etc. She ran hormone panel of course. Now results indicated everything was within range but she really didn't offer info like you are. Doctors expect that you should just trust what they say. I don't operate that way. 🕊️

There is nothing better than understanding what's happening to you. I always say, "Peace of mind is everything." So, if you really want the peace of mind you deserve, get the education you deserve. And the way you do that is by watching all my videos IN ORDER. Here’s why: I’m an anal, neurotic, pedantic, perfectionistic surgeon. I put great time and energy into making sure I publish my videos in just the right order so that they are the most beneficial for you. There is absolutely nothing willy-nilly about the order. I guess you could say that my menopause series as akin to “Menopause University.” I start with Video #1, assuming you know absolutely nothing. And I do not mean that as an insult. The fact is, you don’t know what you don’t know. And, if you start at the beginning, you’ll be shocked at what you thought you knew, but don’t. These videos are like building blocks. Each video builds on the last. Think of it like this: If you didn’t know the alphabet, could you read? No. Well, if you don’t know the foundation on the topic of menopause, you can’t possibly make sense of it. So, first I teach you the alphabet and then I teach you how to read. Most women think they know the “alphabet” of menopause, but when they watch my videos in order, beginning with the very first one, they realize that the vast majority of what they thought they knew is misinformation. That’s why visits with your doctor can seem so unproductive and curt. You don’t speak the language of menopause. Your doctor doesn’t have time to teach you the alphabet, how to read, or how to speak the language. So, most of your time face-to-face with any professional is unfruitful. If you do watch my videos in order, you’ll get a real education. Then, you’ll discover that your doctor is so impressed that you can speak the language. And your appointments will be incredibly productive. You’ll know what you want and how to get it. You owe it to yourself to take advantage of the fact that I’m so organized. I leave nothing to chance with your menopause education. Why would you throw that away by jumping into the series in the middle or watching the videos out of order? It’s like jumping into a mini-series in the middle of it. It’s so much better if you watch from the beginning. I plan the videos 8 months before they air. I shoot then 4 months before they air, and I edit them 1 month before they air. That takes a lot of planning on my part, and you get the benefits of all that planning. Okay, that’s the end of my begging. I hope you give yourself what you deserve. I love helping you, and I respond to comments here on KZbin daily. So, I will answer all your questions ... but I'll also know if you aren't watching the videos in order. (I'm like your mother. I have eyes in the back of my head!)

Girl! You ARE Downton Abby! Love the clothes and the hats are beyond adorable! I’m 7 years late hitting your channel!! Love it! I just started micronized oral progesterone, compounded test, and had to wait for Vivi Dot transdermal patch .0375mg until I had a clear mammogram. Problem is they found a mass. I had to wait 3 weeks for an US due to Kaiser’s strike. Guess what? It was an existing and obvious mole on my lower armpit. I also had an ER visit for severe abdominal pain and heartburn all in the same timeframe. All this after starting the 2 things (within 1 week). I thought maybe it was one of those new things. But I don’t think so. Not does my functional / naturopathic secondary doc. My daughter was in 3 days before me for similar symptoms. So that’s odd, they had no ideas. I also have pancreas divisum and my pancreatic and biliary ducts have been stented. Unfortunately my biliary duct was damaged but my pancreatitis was healed from the surgery! I am u fortunately a chronic pain patient on the lowest of doses that never increase. I’m shocked how my chronic pain has been controlled. I do have 5mg P for acute pain as needed. I do worry because none of my MD Kaiser docs will listen to me or offer me anything beyond an IUD (I’ve had a tubal and my husband is fixed.) I took a really crappy synthetic progesterone that made me so ill. They said I had to do the IUD and then, they could give me a hysterectomy, I feel that’s a big jump. I asked about transdermal estrogen along with micronized progesterone. They said NO, we won’t govern you the estrogen patch until you’re in menopause. 🤔 The doc I have now says it’s better to start all of those before menopause. That makes sense to me. You don’t want to pump it all up from Zero. So I guess my question is, should I stop being scared of estrogen? Kaiser isn’t finding a health problem. My blood insulin is 4, A12 is 5.2. Thyroid great (including t3/t4), lowest of low cholesterol and blood pressure. I just during the health scare stated having tight chest, more heart burn, and intermittent SOB that scared me at times. I’m either having heart issues or anxiety attacks or just bad heartburn. Please tell me if I should go for the estrogen? I’m scared but I need my quality of life to happen! Please feel free to PM ME if your heart calls to me. Thank you for all you education! I’m watching them all in order, I just have things that I’m nervous whether it’s all good. If you even read this, thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤❤❤

LOVE your Boudoir! LOVE your pink outfit to! I had to learn all of this the hard way. I really wish I found this series when I first hit menopause which was 2014 or earlier! You would not believe the disrespect shown to me and other women by doctors because of hormones. I hit menopause around 52 years old. (my mom got menopause at age 63 so I thought I would too ) I was relieved when I hit menopause. I was thrilled I thought you just stopped having periods or if you have a bad diet you get hot flashes which I knew I would not have and have never had even one hot flash! I had an easy breezy puberty other than difficult periods. No mood swings or any of the things you hear about in puberty. But menopause is kicking my rear! But I had to do all of this reproach myself because doctors were of no help at all! If anything they hurt my experience. I had a doctor tell me pain I was experiencing at age 45 (peri- menopause) was menopause. Found out it was RSD. So with al of this nonsense I had to do my own research! All women should know about you and your series and I am happy that you are taking the taboo out of it. This not talking about the truth is not my thing! Keep telling the truth!

Watching your video had me crying the whole time . All I can say is thank you thank you . Do you do phone consultation? I desperately need your help. And of course I will pay . This is my first time listening besides the one you did with Angie.

I love every minute of giving you this education! Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything. You'll be shocked at what you didn't know, and delighted that now you do know. Each video builds on the last. It's just like school: You had to learn the alphabet before you could read. And nowadays, there are so many overwhelming misconceptions that women mistake as facts ... that you just don't know what you don't know. I respond to all comments here on KZbin daily. So, I will answer all your questions ... but I'll also know if you aren't watching the videos in order. (I'm like your mother. I have eyes in the back of my head!) And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time. I do them all online.

Absolutely! All males should watch them. In fact, the last chapter of my book is "For the Guys." It gives them a brief description of what menopause is (entitled, "Menopause in a Flash"), compares their aging process to ours ("Male Menopause"), and teaches them how to be a good support system for the women in their lives ("Men in Support of Menopause"). The chapter is 11 pages long, and it's really helpful.

@5:59 Why do some practitioners tell us that the plunge in progesterone level is what causes postpartum depression (as well as hair loss) but Dr Barbara, you say it hangs around and sometimes causes that. Who is speaking the truth?
@MenopauseTaylor Жыл бұрын
Both are true. Your progesterone increases 15 times during pregnancy, and then plunges when you deliver. But estrogen is 15 times higher during pregnancy, too. And it plunges after delivery. Depression is a symptom of estrogen deficiency. Progesterone itself can cause depression. This is what causes the mood changes at the time of PMS.

10:55 She talks adrenals here. Don’t we need to support the adrenals in menopause too? Since the load on the adrenals increases since it has to make hormones the ovaries once did? Thanks 😊 I’ve had a doctor give me large amounts of progesterone, and it started to make my adrenals weak. It also made my feet cold at night, so much so I couldn’t sleep. I had to get a heating pad for my feet. My feet had never been cold in my life. She said it was just old age, however I think it was because my adrenals were low.
@MenopauseTaylor3 жыл бұрын
Your adrenal glands are not normally affected per se with menopause ... other than the fact that your entire body suffers from estrogen deficiency. Do not fall prey to alternative practitioners who sell you on the made-up diagnosis of "adrenal fatigue."

I'm a chronic pain patient along with a neuro disease. I'm looking forward to how this may affect my menopause. I'd like to learn how you exercise with your pain.
@MenopauseTaylor8 жыл бұрын
RaChelle, I bear the pain rather than taking narcotic pain relievers. Most people with my level of arthritic disease are in a wheelchair and addicted to pain meds. I hurt a lot, but refuse to let the pain stop me. I go to the gym first thing every single morning ... no excuses! Once there, I do what I can do. Most days, I'm able to function as I expect. But some days, I just have to be gentle with myself and listen to my body even more than usual. I exercise in a completely different way than most other people: no impact, no heavy weights, and no speed. I do a lot of yoga, pilates, and isometric exercise. You'll benefit greatly from the exercise videos I'll be showing you. I've made up a lot of exercises that will be just perfect for you. They all have multiple levels of difficulty so that you can start with the basics and work your way up. They'll be scattered throughout the series. So stay tuned.

If you're only on video 9, there are many things ahead that will make you realize that your situation is critically important. You meet the definition of "premature menopause," and that changes everything. Please, please consider scheduling a one-on-one consultation with me. Tick, tick, tick. For you, timing is everything. And, unless you're going to binge-watch these videos, you need to get a lot of information a lot faster the you can from the videos. (I haven't even started covering weight gain, but I can do that with you in a consultation along with everything else.) I am soooooo glad you found this education, and I consider it an honor to help you make the rest of your life the best of your life. I love helping you. I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works: 1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone. 2) I would confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I would need all these things at least 1 week before your consultation with me. 3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points put the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are 25 - 30 pages. 4) I will send you the document by email at least 24 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth. 5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed. 6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use. 7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and balance their options. The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got form the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request. So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).
