Please allow those of us that want it to discuss this subject to do so without the HRT brigade jumping on us - it is already happening 15 mins after posting - comments will not be posted on HRT - I didn't cover it because I have no experience with it but there are SO MANY OTHER VIDEOS OUT THERE ON HRT and many championing it - I am not one of them. But please research for yourself other commentators on that if you need to. I wish you well. Thank You so much x

Hi Amanda trying to catch up after returning from working abroad. Your skin looks flawless and glowing. You are 7 years younger than me. I didn't take HRT and took the natural route. However I love my dancing/Gym long walks. I work with beautiful young girl in my profession I never get jealous of them infact feel quite maternal towards them. Especially love playing mum on screen cause due to circumstances didn't manage to give birth. Also Amanda your still beautiful. 🙏🙏🌻💛🌄

I had a moon party for my daughter when she started her period. I asked her if she wanted to have a moon party and she said no not at this point. So about three months after she started her period, she said that she wanted to have a party. All adult women that were significant to her were invited and we sat in a circle and each one of them told my daughter what it was that she meant to them. She received a moon blanket to wrap up in when she was having her period. She still has that blanket and she is going to be turning 46 this year. It was a wonderful celebration of her coming into her womanhood. Now that she is getting closer to menopause , I think we will have the conversation of celebrating the end of one cycle of her life and the entrance into the next. 💕🌷

Hi Amanda, my aunt will be 100 in September. I take her to Tescos regularly, she goes around the store on her own with her trolley and I'll help her with the scanning and packing. I've introduced her to the ATM and we have a laugh, she always says thank you when she gets her cash. We go out for a coffee or to the local garden centre etc. She is visited weekly by a hairdresser, she lives on her own, does her own cooking, cleaning, washing and ironing - so age should hold no fear for anyone, just look after yourself and life will care for you.

I've always looked younger than my years and could turn a few heads having kept my figure and fitness well past my menopause (which I sailed through.) After my 60th birthday, I stopped colouring my hair. I became instantly invisible to the male population, and a bit of a celebrity amongst my female friends for having the courage to go natural. Since then, I've noticed how many women are realising that they don't have to conform to the social pressure of keeping their grey hair at bay. If you follow a healthy diet and lifestyle, you can be radiant and vital at any age. It's how you carry yourself that makes the difference. Confidence is everything. ❤

Amanda, this was so warm, sincere and spiritual, all young women should hear this to understand sex, periods, and the sacredness of our female life and body, instead of women's rights. It reminded me that I never talked with my mother or two sisters of being a woman, at any cycle of our feminine role. My eyes filled to hear your loving words as a sister.

I'm doing my best to not get caught up in the medical system and let my body age naturally, without any intervention. What Amanda is doing for menopause I'm trying to do for aging, but there's not a lot of information available.

I’m 45 started to see peri menopause symptoms. Took immediate action, I chose to try intermittent fasting. I started about 2 years ago at 204lbs, today 125lbs. I made no other changes, I let my body get used to this new way of life (overweight my entire life). I am now being led to start incorporating better eating habits during my eating window and slow movement. My Mother and both Grandmothers have guided me spiritually (all passed before I was 26) love to all of us moving into this exciting new stage in our journeys❤

A video that I wish I had had a few years ago and I hope it helps all who find it - whether pre-menopausal, going through menopause or well before or past it. A video also on ageing and growing older - men will also benefit from watching this too. Looking at: What I wish I had known before it arrived - and what I would have done differently Looking at denial, and not wanting to look at 'what's over the wall' (as Metatron so accurately describes!) Honouring the past, closing out cycles whilst acknowledging your younger self Marking rites of passage from puberty to menopause and beyond, with Gaia's help and the sisterhood Not using menopause as an excuse.....! The beauty of 'the rose' at all stages of its life, not competing with daughters, honouring other women's journey and beauty The place of older women in society Womb healing messages and ancestral support Messages from Mary Magdalene regards this generations menopause journey at a time of Divine Feminine awakening The spiritual significance of menopause Things that have helped me including diet, exercise and doing less - finding the right balance for a changed physiology for a changed landscape, and maximising the years you have left Intimacy and getting older and more. No guidance given is intended to be prescriptive - I am simply sharing what is working for me and what I have learnt, I also think it is important to be a voice that shows there are other holistic natural approaches to a woman's change if a medicalised route is not wanted. For me at age 57 I feel well, happy and healthy - I wish health and happiness to all who listen to this. HAPPY MENOPAUSE! You're doing the right thing to do research , I started with the vitamins and herbs in my early 40s. I saw how my mother, my cousin's and friends suffer through menopause and I didn't want to go through that. Glad I did everything I needed to do. I did the same with my son when he had asthma, I didn't want him to be taking steroids for the rest of his life..... again I used vitamins and herbs also traditional plants in his healing.

I suddenly became allergic to sugar and my skin got really dry and itchy. It is an unusual side affect to menopause. I became very sensitive to gluten too. I chose to give up sugar as it messed with my mind too much. The first 6mths were hard as sugar was my go to, stress comforter. Now 3yrs later I'm feeling great and didn't put weight on. My mind is clear. ❤

Great video ❤ I got to watch it with both of my young adult daughters in the room. One was home sick with a cold, the other was dealing with bad cramps. I was on the treadmill (weight loss journey, right there with you) so I had control of the remote. 😉 I’m 54 not in menopause yet. It was so good for my girls to hear another woman having some of the same issues I’m having i.e. anxiety driving long distances, anxiety at stop lights, weight gain over time etc. With them I have normalized talking about periods, birth control, giving birth, nursing and the journey into menopause. They enjoyed when you spoke about honoring yourself at all stages of life, sisterhood and honoring the beauty in other women. Thank you 🦋

Thank you Amanda. I am all alone in my premenopausal experience. No female relatives and no friends whee I am… first know my grandmothers so… I never had children myself… it has been like a funeral yes. And physically challenging. But I work with the earth and her plant medicines and I got the message of how special a time this can be. I’m organic as well and am doing it naturally… taking extra care of my diet and rest. My mind. I’m with you all the way there. It doesn’t feel right yo interfere with nature. But I don’t Botox or inject either. I’m all with the Mother regarding my body. But… It’s a Becoming… not an ending. Our programmed society stains it so darkly. We women need to come together and flip the script on this…. It’s a very special club of magical wise and strong women…. It should be seen as an honor. Thank you so so much for this video.

I found a great way to get through the menopause. My husband was redundant and my job had come to an end, so we became mature students. I did an Open University degree. It took five years of intense study and I chose a difficult subject, maths and physics. There wasn't really any time to worry about going through the change as lots of people put it. I was studying hard and working at every opportunity. I went to summer schools and tutorials and had loads of fun. By the time I graduated I had also graduated into a post menopausal woman. This approach isn't for everybody but it got me through it in such a way that I hardly noticed it. I did get a job in the tax office in the last year or two of studying and all of us older ladies used to come in with little hand held fans. They were very good for the hot flushes. Walking past the cakes can be hard but it has to done. Thank you for an excellent video.

Thank-you, thank-you, Amanda! I love this video! I’m seventy years old, and a breast cancer survivor for nearly 12 years. I celebrate still being here, especially with a little 2 year-old grandson to love. I wear a prosthetic on one side, because I decided not to get the reconstructive surgery. As a divorcee, this has changed my perspective on relationships with males. I have to admit that I don’t mind this change in perspective, and when you said “I call the shots now” that’s where I’m at. I’ve enjoyed several rich platonic friendships with males, and so far there has not been one I would choose to trust enough to get “intimate” with. If it’s meant to happen, it will, and probably my male partner will bring a battle-scar or two of his own to the table (or whatever flat surface it happens on first!)😊

I’ve had all of the symptoms for about 4 years now, everything started during the c19 times 😅 anywho I have been riding the waves of peri/menopause like you without really having a clue and being quite confused about it all. In my experience, it all eventually subsides, you just have to have patience, feel it all, and ride the waves with as good of an attitude as possible 😂 the hot flashes as we call them here in America and night sweats are still lingering here and there but I manage it. I exercise, drink loads of water, eat as clean and healthy as possible and try to “ let that shit go!!! “ as much as possible!!! Great video! I never comment but always watch but I had to put in my experience today! hopefully it can help someone ❤❤❤

Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I really appreciate it! I’m currently 46 but due to stress, I kicked in to early menopause and was considered post-menopausal at 43 years old. I wish I had known what was going on! I eventually found a functional medicine doctor and we sorted things out. Based on my family history of Alzheimer’s, we decided it was best to supplement with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. It has made a world of difference. But that is just my journey, and I respect you, and everyone that chooses to honor their body and their spirit. Honestly, I am very much like you in the sense that I believe we are meant to go through these changes and experience them authentically. It took me two years to agree to the hormone replacement and once I did, it changed my life. But this is just part of my life story. My hope is that we all honor where we are and respect each other and support each other, creating a community around one another, as we evolve through our lives. Amanda, you have been a beacon of light for many and I thank you for all you do. I found you a few years ago and enjoy watching and listening to your videos. Thank you so much for this Amanda, for giving a voice to us who chose a more natural approach. As a woman who was thought as reasonably attractive in my youth, the one thing that I absolutely appreciate post menopause, is no longer being under the pressure of the male gaze. I have let my hair go silver and gained a little weight, I love the total freedom I feel in knowing that men no longer pay me attention, look, stare, etc. Its a wonderful time of life. They now look at my daughter and I see the embarrassment and annoyance in her at times. My mother was a beautiful woman who died in her 40's so did not get the chance to experience the freedom I feel. Its a wonderful time. I am blessed to have arrived here 😊

Thank you for tackling this topic. I have four sons, and am proud of myself for educating them about menstruation and menopause. Their wives/ girlfriends have thanked me. Haha! I showed them tampons, pads when they were in middle school, talked openly about my hormonal moods, etc. I embraced menopause wholistically, honored its “arrival” with rituals. My mother never told me about menstruation so I thought I was bleeding to death when it happened. Horrible experience. Thus, I educated my two younger sisters, probably when they were too young…haha. I just didn’t want them to experience what I had. Bless you, Amanda!

I'm on the gross HRT due to hysterectomy at 40. It's been living hell, honestly. I'd rather not be on it, but due to pressure by my doctors, husband and family I've continued on...and then I carry guilt on both sides of that. I was already perimenopausal at 36 due to reproductive health issues (obviously why I needed the hysterectomy at a younger age) and I thought I was crazy that it was affecting even my spirituality. As I'm getting older (I'm 46 now) I am absolutely struggling recently with the way the world in general treats me as I age, and am contantly battling the feeling of insult at already having dealt with so much of the stuff they throw at me about hornones being the cause of every problem i have, how I "need" to be or do this or that. It can be SO confusing. Thank you so much for this encouragement, Amanda. Edit - I only call HRT "gross" because of my personal experiences with it. Not at all an opinion for or based on anyone other than myself.

I was teaching kindergarten and had bouts of feeling like I was bursting into flames. I’d have sweat pouring from my brow. The kids would run to bring me my bottle of water or grab a tissue and dab my forehead. So sweet and funny. I invented a game to cope with personal space needed. “Okay kids were going to play a game called”Hot flash-jump back! When I say hot flash, you yell “jump back!” and take a giant jump backwards and let’s see who jumps the farthest! It turned a miserable moment into laughter and joy.

Thank you for doing this video. I'm currently going through perimenopause and although I'm doing all natural too my doctor keeps pushing medical alternatives. Telling me my symptoms are not normal despite every test I do that tells me every thing is ok. I follow a couple groups on Facebook that women talk about symptoms all the time. The same symptoms that doctors say are not normal. Like flooding, false periods, severe exhaustion. Women need to be their own advocate and not be bullied or shamed into doing something they don't align with. Thank you 😊

Thank you Amanda for talking about this subject. In my 40s I had decided I was complete with my three children, even though I desired a fourth at one point. It was difficult for me to accept that I was done, especially when I would see other moms with , their babies and strollers walking down the street. I would look on wistfully at them, and think this should still be me, I wish this was still me. But I made the decision and I also felt I needed to allow myself to move on to my next phase of life. In my early 50s when I began to go through menopause, I suffered lots of symptoms, such as night sweats, hot flashes, difficulty sleeping, etc. I also was experiencing lots of physical symptoms of other nature like nerve pain in my back and down the full length of my legs, shoulders, possibly arthritic. I was always very active, a runner, dancer, practice, yoga, bike, played tennis, etc. I found all of these activities physically challenging because of the different pains I was experiencing. I soon fell upon Medical Medium information (Cleanse to Heal book) and slowly changed my food plan. I first eliminated all gluten and yes, I did start celery juicing. I also eventually turned vegan. So I do not eat any animal fat. I never was much of an alcohol drinker, but once I eliminated most of that, I also felt physically and emotionally so much better. I also eliminate problematic, troublemaker foods, such as eggs, canola oil, any other industrial oil ( like palm, oil), citric acid, nutritional yeast, vinegar ( I use fresh squeezed lemon instead), Corn, soy, processed sugars ( I use coconut sugar or date sugar or maple syrup or honey). I eat organic as much as possible and I take supplements from a company called Vimergy). I use olive oil, avocado, oil, or coconut oil in my cooking. I must note that I know, that not everyone can make such a drastic transition as I have, but some people may benefit from some of the things I share. I am back to all of my activities, mostly pain break. On the menopausal note, I was not sad to give up the monthly mensus - relieved actually. When I am experiencing an illness, I find natural and herbal and supplemental solutions first, whenever possible. I am sharing this as a success story related to this video as I no longer suffer all of the menopausal symptoms - night sweats, hot flashes, disrupted sleep, weight gain, etc. Much love to all and I wish everyone the best on their journey. 💕

✨Thank you Amanda❤️‍🔥, this video was quite helpful. You shared information about menopause that I used to compare what I went through during "andropause" (androgen decline in aging males). I went through that in my early 50's. You said when women are premenopausal, they have a strong urge to get pregnant. When men are at that stage of life, they usually have a mid-life crisis with a strong urge to determine if they "still have it." That is, the ability to attract a younger woman and demonstrate attractiveness, strength and virility. I see only minor differences between the aging process between women and men. I too have changed my diet and activity level to counter-balance my aging process.✨

I think I got away pretty lightly with menopause...only two exceptions: The first was when I was having to appear at a big public event and a huge blood clot suddenly appeared and ran down my leg...escaping underneath my trouser suit. Thankfully I was just a half mile from home en route to the event when it happened and my manager drove me home first to shower and change and arrive at event bang on time 🙏 No surprise my lovely grandmother had a very similar experience while working in a shoe shop and it was far more visible as she was on step ladder to reach a box of shoes. She was far more traumatised by her experience than I ever was 😔 Secondly since menopause I have woken in night 3 times regularly to use bathroom...until I bought grounding sheet for bed. Early days still but since fitting it and sleeping on it for 2 weeks now I have only been waking up for bathroom once in night. I hope this helps someone 🙏

Oh Amanada, thank you for saying … “I wish I knew it was coming!” … I thought it was just me!!! I lost my Mom when I was in my early 30-ies and I had lived away for more than 10 years before that (college and moving across the globe), so I never saw my Mom go through menopause firsthand, and it was NOT in my awareness in the least bit … until a week or so after I turned 50 last September and it HIT me like a FAST moving train!!! I had so many unexplained joint pains and aches for a few years prior and dealt with them holistically - acupuncture, yoga, red light therapy … you name it … never once did I think it would have been pre-menopause … I am still in that stage, as I have not lost my period, haven’t had sweats, haven’t gained weight … and I attribute it to staying active and trying to lift weights. I HATE lifting weights, I hate sweating, but through research and my own experience, I’ve found that this is the only thing helping me weather the storm (so far) ... as we age, it is crucial to maintain bone density and muscle mass. Thank you for sharing your experience and starting the conversation! I can’t wait to read what everyone else will share!

Thank you Amanda, this is a conversation that is so needed. Personally, my monthly periods were so painful and then I had multiple miscarriages and no children, so I felt blessed to finally reach menopause. (I have connected with the energy of my last baby and much healing has come from that.) I'm nearing 60 and as a healer on S.M. with greying hair and a body that has gained weight, I find it challenging, wondering if I have value. So self-worth is a biggie for me now. Honoring the journey and who I'm becoming. I love that you brought in Mary Magdalene, I feel circle work for the feminine elder, and wise women, and holding space for each other is so needed. Bless you for bringing these messages forward.

I feel that Women especially handle the acknowledgement of life's different transitions far better than us blokes. In Pagan communities particularly the Goddess/Divine Feminine has the lead (in whatever face you see her in) and the Men struggle with "Coming of Age" acknowledgements. I've been to a few Men's groups and it's been so healing hearing and sharing between generations. But for all.... times of sharing of getting together in a circle, and just being open and honest is so very much needed. We can all learn from each other. I wish you Amanda (your family and crew) a blessed Beltaine/Beltane. For us here in Australia it's Samhain and I am hopefully prepared enough. Blessings. - William.

Thank you so much for doing this video, Amanda!! You're the BEST! This is a hot topic (no pun intended) for me of late. It's been about 4 yrs since I bled on the regs, but the other symptoms (mild as they go, I'm happy to report) only really started presenting the last year. I'd been vegetarian and happy with it for about a decade, but my body was screaming for more protein, so I got off that train and listened. I'm still probably in the "keto" adjacent realm with that, but I'm mostly focused on fresh food and healthy proteins. I'm a salad ARTIST, so now I'm just incorporating more protein and also working in some carbs (on the lighter end) b/c my "morning constitutional" goes a lot better. ;) I turned 50 in late March this year and had a ceremonial and celebratory rite of passage party to welcome in my Crone phase, over Zoom, with friends (b/c many are not local to me). It was AMAZING! I had a friend, who I adore, but honestly wasn't a super close one, offer to plan the whole thing for me and she did a fantastic job. She organized music tracks, prayers, intentions, shares from friends and also organized certain friends to contribute to the event (like my astrologer friend). I got all gussied up in a goddess-y mermaid-y outfit, had my hair done in advance and even had a professional photo shoot on the day of the call to commemorate the event. I was also asked to reflect and share on my experiences and learnings to date and my wishes for self and collective moving forward. Talk about getting in the receiving mode. I'm super glad I honored myself in this way. It was powerful and I highly recommend it!! My mantra for this next chapter is: I summon. I command. :)

Just watching this now. As a side note - Amanda - you said you avoid driving long distances on motorways because it brings out your anxiety. Can I ask about this as I've had it for a while. Do other people have this? I start overthinking driving subconsciously and it sends me into a panic attack where I feel like I am going out of my body. Do other people get this? I only know one other person that has the same thing so your comment spiked my interest

Thank You Amanda! Your willingness to be authentic, congruent & vulnerable is a Joy to behold. As another (timeless) late 1960’s Chick I look back and wonder what on earth my younger self was stressing about (& why did I not wear more nice frocks with heels for the fun of it?) The self-introspection inspired by your video also looks at an unwillingness to acknowledge the changes that due to circumstance have been less obvious than the classic definition of menopause. Another important to acknowledge aspect to the Women who have had the impact of the death of an infant (as I have) or child and it may seem like one more thing too many to grieve. Another rather taboo topic too. On a note of nutrition many Woman (myself included) have found not only reducing/eliminating sugar also oxalates (plant toxins) helps change some of the symptoms that may be traditionally associated with menopause. As the Mother of a Teenage Daughter I Thank You for such a valuable contribution to their future we are creating. ⭐️💫💃🙏🏻💜

I, too, mourned the loss of my period... mainly because I always wanted children, but both marriage and children never happened for me. It has no sense of deprivation, which is what I feared about it. Has helped with most of my symptoms including (somehow) improving continence. Thanks you so much for making this video Amanda - very much needed and you mentioned so many things that are really important to acknowledge and recognise. I am a (post menopausal) holistic health coach based here in the UK too, and I have recently starting to give talks to groups of women about this topic because it is so needed to provide more clarity about options, the wide range of solutions and what's actually going on with our bodies (there's a lot) to enable women to be feel better prepared and to help empower them to make informed choices that are right for them. It is time to see this as a natural and important female rite of passage and to honour it as such. Thank you also for mentioning about the stigma you felt - so many do and it is time to reframe and rethink this entire topic. We are ready and l loved Mary Magdalene and the ancestors input too - so very true. We are helping to birth the divine feminine at this time - how powerful and beautiful! The reality is that there are many holistic ways and lifestyle practices to adopt to age with grace and vitality and to help us remain strong and healthful as we age. It's about a change of mindset and simply by making some diet and lifestyle changes it can really help not only with the menopause transition but to adapt to the new, post menopausal life stage and what the body and soul now needs. Thank you again. 🙏 I recently took part in a People Health Alliance online roundtable about menopause with a great group of female health practitioners - you can find it in the PHA directory at the-pha.org/resources and youtu.be.tRAWDXVzeP0

I started having heavy periods after a tubal ligation at 30. My last period was at 60, I had no problem at all and my migraines also stopped. So for me menopause is a blessing, I am now 74 and reasonably healthy.

So I always had this fear around it because I didn't want to go through what she went through - it wasn't a pleasant experience for her. I soon realised that I would do it differently and do my best to sail through it when the time comes. I turned 40 last year and said to myself I am going to make adjustments to go through any lifestyle change and know that I can be in control of my health to a degree. Healthy habits, growth mindset and moderation of nutrition and exercise. The rest I will continue to research. Oh my goodness Amanda what amazing guidance and where to begin. I really could have done with this! I am in my sixties now and it’s sort of all over although I think although I still get hot flushes occasionally and it has changed me. I used to have very heavy periods and pain and started very early in fact I was nearly twelve and it was my first day at secondary school….pretty stressful at the time. My Mum went through early menopause as did most of us 3 girls. I was a stroppy teenager as she was going through it, bless her. For me apart from the physical and emotional rollercoaster there was a grief. I wanted children desperately all my life, I wanted to be a mother. It never happened and that coming to an end of child bearing years took a lot of work on myself to let go and understand, my getting to really know myself as a spiritual being over many years was an enormous help and I know I have been a parent in many lifetimes and part of this lifetime was to learn and know something different. Of course it sounds easy on paper but this was a steep and often painful. But I am who I am now because of it. I never had HRT. Firstly because my Mum and sisters had breast cancer so that was never an option and second frankly I worried about what other effects they might have on my body, I have always been an anxious person and so it wasn’t for me. It wasn’t until I hit 60 that I felt an almost overwhelming sense of well ok this is the next milestone . Although my periods had ended many years previously who I am now feels like the authentic real me…just as you said Amanda the person I was always meant to be. Of course life still happens but I am much better equipped to deal with it. I feel an overall gentleness and stillness, it’s quite hard to explain. I love the picture behind you Amanda. The look on her face reminds me of at my best now this is how I feel. 😻🙏❤️

Thank you for the video Amanda! I'll throw out a few different thoughts on the topic and maybe some people will benefit from it. When I trained as an Ayurvedic doctor and did several internships in India, I noticed that (pre)menopausal women have few to no symptoms, but knowingly communicate that they know that they are going through a change. I thought maybe they just didn't talk about it and asked the gynecologists whether they didn't do it because of cultural reasons or because they were ashamed. And I was told several times that this was not the case and that the symptoms did not occur the same way as in our western world. However, this has already changed due to the diet that we have in western countries (which brings with it a large number of illnesses that were little or non-existent in these countries), which has now also found its way there. What is particularly worth mentioning is the high consumption of animal protein, which we mainly consume in denatured form. (I'm not a pure vegetarian myself either) Another patentee tells me: "You just talk about it too much and manifest it like that." You grow up with it and prepare yourself for “something to happen” or for you not to feel well! There's some truth in that too ;) What I also noticed was that patients here in western countries who occasionally performed a liver cleanse according to Andras Moritz (the origins of this probably come from Siberia) had fewer symptoms and otherwise became more vital again. I recommend that almost everyone do this once a year.

How true are your words just what I needed at my time of adjustment in midlife a twice grandmother and not yet in menopause but aging is something we look to other women for inspiration and role models.
