The amazing thing about Warriner is he looks like he's just doing warm-up strides down the back straight: 43.18!! Amazing!

Still second fastest all-time even with David Neville running a bit slower for a flying start split. Wariner was only 1.5 seconds ahead with about 200m to go but he finished almost 3 seconds ahead. He was a great finisher in a 400.

But USA never put Warner to start WHY ?
@leo29hornsfan8 жыл бұрын
If Jeremy Wariner never ditched Clyde Hart as his coach I seriously believe that he would have broken Michael Johnson's world record in the 400 because he just had some serious talent and that was his downfall from there but no doubt they say he is the 2nd best at this race in history?? I can't argue with that. He could have been better if he would have stuck with Hart as his head coach
@fantasy88668 жыл бұрын
why did he quit competing?
@leo29hornsfan8 жыл бұрын
+Dan B he just burned himself out and wasn't able to recover fully to compete up to his ability. He still does compete and does still win races. He was the US indoor champion not to long ago but it just never translated to the outdoor season. He can still run good but ??? we don't know if he would have hit that 42 second mark if he hadn't left his coach Clyde Hart. Honestly!! He probably would have broken his own agents world record, and that is the great Michael Johnson and why? Dude was loaded with talent

Probably b.c he is married now and focusing on his personal life. After he stopped running the 400, he later ran the 800m and won consistently. And I can't believe the WR by M.J. has been surpassed this year, I took it so personally too.

@DrakeBrunette so why is he serving a 2 year ban then. rules are there for a reason and if an athlete is unsure of what they are taking then ask a doctor, most athletes dont take cold & flu remedies just incase there is something in it which is on the banned list, no excuses

Man this is intense... I've always wondered though... How does the U.S. always produce such great 400m runners? I know we didn't have anyone in the finals in 2012 Olympics and we lost to Bahamas in the 4x400m but before that was undisputed US dominance in the 400m... How the heck do we do it?(Btw, this isn't an arrogant comment at all if this is what some of you are taking away from it...)

there are some serious problems when they dont have the runners running strictly in lanes. did anyone else notice the pushing and shoving going on between the 2 guys running the 3rd leg, in the 3rd lane waiting for the baton. they were literally pushing back and forth on one another

@idontsignin I wasnt aware that he cheated...when and how did this happen? If its steroids or something of that nature thats messed up for him as an individual. However, he still is a very hard working runner with alot of talent so the "great athlete" statement still stands in my opinion. Assuming thats what the cheating was of course....

@DrakeBrunette allan baxter for example failed a drugs test in the winter olympics in skiing after he won bronze cause he took a nazal inhaler which had a banned substance in it

@idontsignin Chill man, yes hes been banned for two years. Im only saying that there is a difference between doping on purpose and accidently taking in a substance that you didnt know was there. The punishment should be the same I agree however this whole thing started as "whether or not he is a great athlete" which I believe he is.
@DrakeBrunette14 жыл бұрын
@idontsignin HAHAHA dude I just read up on it. He was taking Extenze which has that drug in it. He was just trying to improve his sexual performance. Now he must have some self esteem issues but I think that can hardly be known as doping.

What are you talking about his dislike of the Americans, he COACHES AMERICANS. He said they ran over their heads because on paper they literally did not have the individual times at the time to run that fast on a relay but they ended up outdoing themselves. That's what he meant.
