Perhaps because it is allowed by the CFDA? I don't think they follow the traditions portrayed in the western movies and TV shows.

Nice but watching this is like watching NASCAR... There ain't nothing authentic about it, specialized race holsters, specialized race guns... The same with NASCAR, there hasn't been a "stock car" raced in decades... I would love to see competition where the shooters use actual old west history correct holsters and guns. Now that would be fun to watch...

@@DustyReinsStories According to the holster rules, I don't see anything about the cut down holsters used in fast draw, in fact it is stated that the 'Hollywierd' fast draw holsters are not allowed and yet I see some pretty skimpy holsters, if the old west holsters were one piece bathing suits, the fast draw are micro-bikini's. One person said that only the Mexican loop holsters were legal but from what I can see they are pretty skimpy Mexican loop holsters and I saw several videos on holsters that had leg tie downs, another no no in my book. I will say I did see a guy using a slim jim holster which is fine. I am a life member of NCOWS who are about as strict as you can get when it comes to authenticity and I agree with their rules.
