@@alcv1583 Guidi is more on the level of BBS, Yohji and so on; and not even close to ccp. Guidi is basically an old artisanal shoe-makery that focusses on horse, buffalo, donkey and kangaroo leather; I wouldn't really consider it avantgarde as much as very traditional and the price reflects that. CCP's tornado boots still cost about twice the price of some guidi pl2 The only designer I would put close to CCP would be Deepti Barth with her vulcanised, silver-infused, glass-shards-plasterd clothes; but it's all too edgy for my taste anyway.

@@the_blank_8133 Definitely agree with you. But to be on BBS and guidi level consciousness, for me you would have be close to CCP level as well. Theyre quite similar in terms of aesthetic, but i get what you mean with the crazy designs of CCP ( Tornadoes, lazercuts, crushable shoes ). Tbh i liked CCP way before i started to like guidi, mainly because i have developed a weakness/taste for leather quality and the artisanal aesthetic. I was after the tank sole derbies for a while now, but unfortunately i was unable to find a pair in my size, then i saw the Guidi 788Zs and decided to go for it instead. Now i wear them to death at literally every occassion. Looking to get more pairs very soon.

This video is pretty relate able. I spend way too much time looking at clothes, adding things to my list of what to buy, getting bored and changing my wardrobe, etc etc. I'm too far in to go back and just stick to a solid wardrobe. Currently in the whole APC/Norse/Acne phase since I want to build my wardrobe for longevity and something that fits who I am. Hopefully I can break this cycle of revamping my entire wardrobe with a different theme.

Same, I’ve passed circle 2 a few years ago and took a step further few months ago to circle 3. I skipped all the steps and I’m at APC, Acne and Burberry now.. I’m also into Margiela and I think that I will be skipping all to Helmut Lang.. Anyway I’m also sitting on the internet watching those videos and instagram outfits.. its hard to get out there, because it’s so addicting trying new stuff and outfits

The primary reason this seems outdated to me is that the barrier of entry (at least in terms of exposure) is much lower now and it's so much easier to find out about avant garde brands via social media, sites like Grailed, and KZbinrs. In the end, none of the brands seem really all that out there.

Definitely agree as far as information goes! I think it'll always be a bit niche because you really have to be interested to take a deep dive down the rabbit hole. But as far as luxury and streetwear colliding and it becoming a larger part of everyday/man's life for sure. I think that a major shift I'm seeing is people wanting to be a part of younger designer's growth and help put them in the spotlight. That would be an interesting diagram to look at haha.
