1:52 That's the whole reason why I want to be a mental health nurse, I want to help people heal and gain the resilience and joy they always had that was buried in a heart that has been hurt by terrible circumstances or thoughts and watching them grow. I cannot wait to take that role after university

Nursing in Mental Health seems really rewarding. I'm just worried about the fees and living on student loans. I'm so excited now. Thank you for this video. Much appreciated.

I've dedicated my day researching and the closest university to me is the Middlesex. Being a single parent to a 7yr I need to ensure I can parent as well as study so location is important.

We don’t have nursing schools but have universities that you can apply at to do nursing.

There are two sides of this story. I was a mental health staff, directly involved in patients' care. The amount of bullying and threats certain staff who were easy targets for manipulative ward's management I worked on we received and experienced from them was unprecedented. Never ever doing mental health in the uk. I'm glad I signed out from that business just in time.

Why do people keep saying mental why not psychiatric condition ? Also.it has to be.said how is it possible that most people who work in the nhs havs never had psychiatric illness but feel.they can tell.people.how to live with such a health condition ? Riddiculous is one word for.it . Also it is off great concern to me this rush to psychiatric illness and people being encouraged to engage with the health service . Let it be known once you declare yourself suffering any of a number of psychiatric conditions your life will.never be the same . First once its on your medical record.you have to inform all of your insurance companies, make it known to.your employers, declare your condition to the driving vehicle licence authority because if you dont for one you will.not have any insurance because technically you dont.have a license . Also you may have to claim benefits and receiving sickness benefit.when declaring a psychiatric illness is very difficult as.you have to.bare you soul just to get you benefit , trust me you wont like this process . Unfortunately for me im trap as many others are in this system and trust me when i say the consultant psychiatric doctors have more power to place you technically under arrest and hold you for almost a indefinite period of time aganist your will . I would deeply suggest that unless it is of the absoulte clincal need then dont ever declare you are suffering with any psychiatric symptoms ever . Your life will never be the same, being a individual with any diagnosis of a psychiartic condition its a prison that you wont believe exists until you are in it .

It is different in the UK. Most of us do not have private insurance. It is okay to not tell your employer unless it will impact your work. A few conditions in the UK will make it impossible to drive. In the UK they only hold you against your will if you are a danger to yourself and others. There are not enough beds in psychiatric hospitals. Some people genuinely want to be in one but can't get in.
