In the U.S you don’t need a bachelors in social work. You can still get into a masters in social work program with a bachelors degree in another program other than social work.

I'am a PRSC case manager at a nursing home facility, I have 36 more credits to complete before I earn my Bachelors degree in Sociology, I"m learning a lot by dealing with people in the nursing home who need mental health assistance, and I would like to see more videos on the day and life of PRSC case managers

I’ve been debating on going back to school to become a social worker, focusing mainly on mental health/public health. I want to ask how safe and secure it is to pursue a BSW via an online-accredited program and if you know of any reputable institutions? I’m considering an online education since I have a full-time job and to have a school schedule that is slightly flexible with my current lifestyle.

I think the best strategy for selecting a school is to first be sure that their program is accredited.

If you want to become a social worker, getting a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree would be a good idea. However, if you are content with being a caregiver and do not see yourself pursuing a career in social work, then obtaining a BSW may not be necessary. It ultimately depends on your career goals and aspirations.
