Caring for a loved one with a mental illness can be challenging but supportive care can make a significant difference. Eng. Andrew Begumisa, Dr. Evas Atwiine And Rachael Mwine have discussed some ways to care for a loved one with a mental illness:
1. *Educate yourself*: Learn about their condition, symptoms, and treatment options.
2. *Encourage professional help*: Support them in seeking professional help and offer to accompany them to appointments.
3. *Listen without judgment*: Create a safe space for open conversations and avoid criticizing or judging.
4. *Validate their feelings*: Acknowledge their emotions and offer empathy.
5. *Support their treatment plan*: Help them remember medication schedules and therapy appointments.
6. *Encourage self-care*: Support activities that bring them joy and promote relaxation.
7. *Take care of yourself*: Don't forget your own physical and emotional well-being.
8. *Set boundaries*: Establish clear limits to maintain your own mental health.
9. *Offer practical help*: Assist with daily tasks or errands if needed.
10. *Show love and support*: Remind them that you're there to support their recovery.
Remember, caring for a loved one with a mental illness requires patience, understanding, and support. By being a supportive and informed caregiver, you can make a significant difference in their life. #dailyvlog #family #mentalhealth #relationship #marriage #motivation #couplegoals #trending #youtube

Andrew, your story is just sooooo profound. May God continue to use to touch as many people struggling with mental health issues. What the enemy meant for evil. God has turned it around for his purpose and glory.

Andrew! Many memories come to mind listening to you share, but I didn't understand what you were going through; coz I was little...but what a testimony! I just love how you lift up the name of Jesus in all this. And it's true..Jesus can change your story! May He do it for someone listening, going through the same. Praise God for His unfailing love! God speed big brother!

Thank you for the show, extremely educative, Dr. Evas is such a professional who is passionate about what she does. Her communication is extremely simple, that allows an ordinary person like me to understand. I think the issue discussed is so timely because there is a lot of mental health issues in today's challenging life. Thank you Andrew for candidly sharing your experience, but I must also say that supportive networks is a centerpiece in dealing with MH, and supportive networks is very hard to come by, all people do is just stigmatize others all the way

the long awaited interview, i can totally relate to Andrew's story. we respond to traumatic events differently, what weighs one down may not do so to another. I think introverts battle more with mental health silently and A students.

We need a show on toxic masculinity especially the aspects embedded in our culture, that teach a wrong sense of exuding strength, some people are even advertising their training sessions on this toxic masculinity for younger boys on their social media handles maybe they will listen in and adapt their programs accordingly
