I did not find that explanation clear enough, so here after some experiments is an alternate try at teaching this (lovely) illusion: Arrive at the 3 cards to play with. Put them in a line face up. Identify a position, let's say the one closest to you. Memorize the card (or object) occupying that position. Turn away. Instruct: Pic one, Turn it over. Take the other two and trade their places as you turn them face down. Turn back forward. Offer to let them move the cards about some more. You track whatever card was in your original picked position as it moves about. It tells you everything when you finally get to see it. When they are happy with the level of shifting, You flip that card you tracked from the identified position (probably first as you are learning the trick but it does not matter when). If it _is_ the card you memorized, you now know it did not move while your back was turned. So it is the card they picked (the other two traded places and you do not care which is which) done. You have a 1 in 3 chance of it looking very magical since you don't have to flip the other two... If the card you tracked from the identified position is _not_ the card you memorized then you now know TWO things: 1) the card you memorized was not in it's original position (so they did not pick the memorized card, they swapped it with this one) and 2) the card you are now looking at was moved TO the identified position (you watched it move from that spot) so they did not pick this one either... so it must be the other card. These guys don't talk enough about patter on this one... You'll want to think about how to do it more than once and break up the presentation by turning them over in different orders and ideally add a misdirecting notion, like micro-expressions, heat signatures, bogus probabilities as "explanations" for how this micracle works.

@@danielkucharik46 I'll try...The instructions for movement when you are not looking mean you can know all three cards by looking at the card in the position you chose to memorize. They did this move while you were not looking but you gave instructions that controlled it. Now when they shift the cards (while you are looking) you just track the card that starts in the memorized position. When they are happy and stop. You can still apply the rule: If it is the card you memorized then they picked that one! If it is a different card, then they picked neither this one you have been tracking NOR the one you memorized. They picked the other one.

That is awesome. I am going to practice it. The coolest thing about this, is that all you need is 3 objects to practice with that are not 100% identical. If someone watches this video at home on a computer, and can't find 3 unique objects near them to use to practice... I mean... I don't see how that would be possible, if your entire home is empty and all you have is a laptop, you could go outside and grab a stick, a leaf and a pebble Or use a shoe, a sock and a shirt.

LOL. Took me a couple rewinds in my mind to hear what Mr. Brian meant by you are following the face down card that should be your KEY card, but when it's not, you know 1. That your KEY card was not chosen no r waa this card in your KEY card's position so that Ljubljana eaves only the 3rd card as the one that they chose. The secret subtlety is only offering them a chance to swap again when you have turned back facing and can watch their moves.

This along with They pick 3 cards for a combination that includes red and black or has just one color. I pick a 3 card color combo based on their selection with friendly water of whose sequence will come out more using all 52 cards. The Magician wins every time with the secret being that You the Magician start your trio with the opposite color of their middle card plus the color of their 1st and 2nd card finishes up and rounds out your 2nd and 3rd spots. If you think that ignores their 3rd card, EXACTLY!! So Practicum time, They choose Red Red Black. I choose Black Red Red. They choose Black Black Black, You choose Red Black Black.

I got it : He says I'm gonna do it differently this time the 2nd time yet he didn't. So he got lucky that it was the 1st card he turned but he would turn until he found the one card that was not switched. The 3rd time he had to turn all 3, actually doing it differently this time. :D Edit : Ok so I got it mostly wrong, this method only requires memorizing 1 card instead of the 3 :D

That was his key card he was following. When he mixed the cards at the beginning he moved the key card in the first position. If he would of turned it over and wasn’t the key card then he would know that’s not the card he choose and the key card is not what he choose so it would be the other card.

I have watched this several times and still dont get it. If they just swap the two cards they didnt pick, and you remember the order of all the cards, then its easy, but it wouldnt be magical. Its the final mix that I dont get, how would your key card determin where the selected card is, if they all got mixed? Lets say the order is A, B, C. and I am thinking of B... I swap A and C, the order is now B, A, *C* this will be werry simple. But lets say the order is A, B, C. They select C, and the (My) key card is A... The order would now be B, a, *C* Now they mix em up even futher, creating *C* ,a, B. How could I tell the selected card is C form this order? It cold also have been B *C* a, or a *C* , B... 😐

Simple. He remembers one of the cards to be his key card, in this case the 2 of diamonds, and all he has to do is remember where the key card is and follow it if he moves them. So when you flip over the cards the first card he is going to flip is the key card, if it is that’s the card they choose and you are done. If he turns it over and it’s not the key card then it’s not the card they choose and it’s not the key card so it’s the other. Kind of confusing at first, but it’s simple. Just remember your key card and if they move it and always flip your key card over first.
