As a guy its unfortunate when men can't just take no and move on to someone else who prefers their preferences without name calling women or getting extreme with their feelings. I had PLENTY of women who rejected me and harshly at times too. Yes its unpleasant to be told no but you can't have your way all the time with every one so I just say Ok ma'am you have a nice day and ask the next lady for company. I prefer a women who favors my preferences and if I can't find that then I am ok with being alone for now and maybe forever.....thats just me and you have the every right to disagree on this because we are separate independent people.

Heard this from my adult daughter. Too strong for her and now she runs a smear campaign against me. I feel deep sorrow for my adult daughter. Sad way to live. She is joyless but acts happy when in certain company. Very sad fir my precious grsndson whom I have had daily since his birth snd now he had turned 8 and my daughter had announced she no longer needs my husbsnd and I to watch him. 28 years ago I set boundaries...... But a lying narcissist will only agree in lie and pretend, If you stay with them long enough they still going to show they're narcissistic sides No matter the boundaries..... That was my experience.😮 I'm a senior now and I walked away and file for divorce and I'll be divorced in the next 40 days........lt,s a-whole-new-world 28 years later but I'm going through with it .

Yes… people need to know, setting boundaries means nothing if you’re not going to enforce them… only respectful people respect boundaries… that’s why Lee was saying boundaries are for you, not them-because only you can set AND enforce them💜 otherwise, people get confused, thinking why are my “boundaries” not working and then just keep re-stating them, wondering why they’re not “working”

Lack of boundaries often is due to childhood trauma of narcissistic family members and/or parents brought up by narcissistic parents. Heal that area of your life and become conscious of your triggers. Set these walls and enjoy the rest of your life. A few people will stay in the end, but toxicity is out for good. Effortless walls actually...because with mentally healthy people you don't need a lot of effort to draw the line. The toxic bunch is another story. Even electricity doesn't keep them away.

He would say that he just got irritated with me.. But when I would just do it, he loved me so much ( that's what he would say ) I'm so happy I'm 29 days, no contact .. Just before I ended the relationship with my narc ex about a decade ago, he actually told me in a moment of exasperation that I was the strongest person he ever met. That sentence came from the most relentless, cold hearted, nasty sob I’ve ever known. It also told me he knew exactly what he had been doing all along, trying to wear me out and grind me down. Unfortunately, I’m trained up in dealing with this type of behavior because I grew up in this type of mess, and so for many years I was drawn to this type of dysfunction and abuse. This relationship was so damn bad that I promised myself never again… it was time to break the cycle - I figured it was time to learn to love what was good for me, and I did just that. And you’re right Lee, it takes leverage to get them to back off and to enforce boundaries. It never feels good to have to go there, but with certain folks it’s necessary.

This is so true. Unfortunately i dated a fellow teacher who turned out to be one of the biggest NARC i've encountered in my life. Well, i realize he needs me more than i need him, and i'm about to walk away from my job. I don't like the school where i work, and because of our relationship i stayed at the job. Good word. I had let the boundaries completely down after 18 years of marriage. He exploited that advantage, and in the end I was terrified of his threats and power plays. He isolated me somewhat in marriage and therefore, I was alone, kept silent (pastoral code) and crawled away. Before I knew what I was dealing with, I made the mistake of believing a narcissist when I texted him to break it off due to inconsistency and neglect and he said, “I wish you would have just given me the grace to communicate. If I knew you had an issue, I would work to change it and grow.” I felt that was fair and honorable, so I called him and, 5 seconds into the call, he yelled at me, cut me off when I tried to speak, degraded my intellect, and accused me of being combative to the point he abruptly ended the call. I left the call soooo confused. But, after giving him one more chance where he rewarded my attempt at communication by punishing me with silence/non-response to my text all day, I sent him a text saying, “before I assume anything, are you intentionally not communicating with me or did you just have a super busy day?” His response was petty and immature, making himself the victim. He said he didn’t have energy to fight with me… even though I didn’t sign up for a fight. My next text was, “So much I could say, but I’ll leave it here. Take care of yourself.” Block, delete. ✌🏽

I feel like just knowing what is going on, and having confidence in yourself, so no matter what they say, you don’t let it bother u, or get to u, and you just say “right, suure” when they deny stuff, and walk away. Not let them get u emotional and just let them do their silent treatment while laughing at it, cause it’s childish. Oh my, I went very low contact with my NM so I could keep in touch with my dad, and the first time I said 'no' to my mom was when I was honestly too busy to take the time off to see her. She wanted to come up and take me shopping (financial lovebombing) and I was in the middle of law school midterms while working full time. I emailed 'no' in response and moved on. The family drama, accusations and grief I got because of NM's hysterics at being refused with no explanation or excuse was eye-opening. Until that point somewhere I was still the kid trying to win her approval; after that, it was a lot easier to see the manipulation for what it was.

here's another situation for you....he almost got himself killed because he is so obsessed with himself and his money he neglected something serious....and now it's going to cost him about $300-500 more and he will be greatly inconvenienced for a week because he didn't want to spend the money until he 'had to' because he couldn't get a grip....In addition to clear NPD, he has some signs of obsessive compulsive PD as well as paranoid. He has another situation that he put off taking care of because he didn't want to spend the time and money.....(it would take away from his ego time) that could have gone really bad.

Love your channel! I’ve watched my daughters husband suddenly turn on his mom when she set boundaries and am sure he’ll do the same with me soon. He’s suddenly said what a horrific childhood that he had and his brothers are dumbfounded with his claims! Saw this with my own brother. Watching my girl believe everything that he says is so crazy! I’m worried that he’s working on isolating her now so that he will have a chance to be a ‘hero’ . She was raised to be a strong independent woman and the longer she’s with him the more I see that independence crumble. It’s very frustrating for me. Everyone can see through him except for her.

I am not saying you're wrong or this isn't good advice. I honestly don't know and like you say, you can't say all or every narcissists or any group of people most of the time and be accurate. BUT! I did all of these except the walk away stuff and my ex stayed until he found a young girl who I think is an inverted narcissist (Sam Vaknin). He got minorly blasted to his family twice and he knows I have receipts for everything bad he had done to me and other people, mostly due to mining our conversations for catching him cheating or lying about it. He knows and I'm fairly certain he's a covert narcissist as he even said it as we watched a video years ago with traits from Dr.Grande. But he was told no, I had a close relationship with my family, no friends really but coworkers yes and I am not afriad of confrontation at all. He was dragging me behind my back so bad but would not do anything but butt kiss or avoid me. So that part is true for sure, he kept me on the back burner and I was foolish enough to have hopes but I realize it's likely true what my dad said. He and my mom said I was too strong for him and I scared him by being to real and really loving him. I think they may be onto something because I wondered why he always messed with women that seem to just want someone to call their man and buy them things while he implodes his life and relives his familial dynamics with them. I just figured familiarity and enough dirt on them made him feel less shameful. But now, I think problem I was too difficult. Like he said I was too big for his life (crap) or I'm not a "simple toy" like the other woman that he can just "carry around in his pocket", I'm "more complicated and require more effort" and my family aren't zoned out. No matter our struggles my family is going to look at you not look to project onto you or get something out of you everything else about you be danged. So that plus my big mouth (I'm not proud of how loose my lips get) make me extra "not worth it". What's easiest for people is often the thing they should avoid. Like you co-signed, the comfort zone kills.

I did make the mistake of allowing him to isolate me, causing me to lose all my good friends. Now, all these years later, trying to divorce this crazy man, I’m having to force myself to leave my home and join groups and get out there and talk to people. Another crazy thing that I realize about the narcissist is in the beginning of the relationship they’re always spending money and they’re always being nice to you and showing you how much they care for you and then at the end of the relationship you start spending more you start spending more you start spending more and they spend less and the crazy part about it my love language is gifts and I used to buy expensive nice High-quality gifts, but when it came onto him buying those things for himself, it was very hard for him to do so it’s like he was trying to find someone else to replace the giftgiving that I was giving him like find another woman, but he just doesn’t understand what I did for him was in my heart it came from the Heartnarcissist, I just horrible evil people
