I guess she gets paid in advance whether anyone goes to see it or not, but it's just another example of how self-centred she is. She's also previously said in interviews that she took the role just because she needs the money (she's been very vocal about how much she dislikes the original story despite not having even seen it), and that they may as well just cut all the Prince's scenes out of the movie because he's such an irrelevant character compared to her (which is such a horrible way to dismiss your co-star???). Overall she's just a very rude and selfish person who clearly hasn't had the publicity coaching or common sense not to insult everyone and everything related to the movie. She knows she won't suffer if the movie bombs because of her, but no doubt the behind the scenes workers won't get what they're owed if the movie doesn't earn it's money back.

There was an entire cut story arc where the evil queen makes a move on the prince, then upon rejection throws him in the dungeon to be tortured. He saw the queen turn into the hag and escaped to follow her, which is how he found Snow White again. That alone would be more than enough for the remake, but Disney didn't do it because that would go against the confusing girl power message they're trying to peddle.

There's a show, too. I watched part of it because it was so bad it was amusing. Legit, it's supposed to be someplace...north...but the next tribe over is black. And not like, light black from northern Africa. Like dark, from the interior or south. And Beowulf's tribe is headed up by a woman thegn and has people of random ethnicities in it. They have some gateposts sitting in some scaffolding not attached to any wall around the town, serving no functional purpose whatsoever. Everything was terrible: historical accuracy of clothing, gender roles, ethnicity, drinking implements, special effects.... Oh, and I'm not even sure that the whole Grendel thing was a part of the story. I can't even remember whatever plot I saw, but the show was absolutely awful.

Snow White and The Huntsman is terrible!! It is an absolute slog! Most of the movie is the SW actress and Chris Hemsworth schlepping around in the woods for like, 2 weeks. Then, at the end, SW magic teleports her entire army (yeah, she's girl-bossing in armor now) back to the Evil Queen's palace by the morning of the next day, despite the fact the journey previously took her two weeks. The actress for SW was not nearly as hot as the actress who played the EQ, either. And, SW spent, like, 10 years locked in a tower before randomly escaping but had no issues with stamina on her journey, wearing armor, or social interactions with other human beings. The DIFFERENCE between this movie & The Little Mermaid is what HALLE actually respected her movie's source material! TLM altered some of the plot but it didn't take away from the original. This movie does the opposite AND disrespect and discriminates against real dwarves.

This movie doesn't take anything away from the original either, it's not a sequel or something that sours the story of the original (new Star Wars movies for example). I dislike the movie, but idk where you think it disrespects and discriminates against real dwarves. They chose the lesser of two evils as, imo, it's a lose-lose situation. Do you want people with dwarfism to be defined by dwarfism, or do you want them to be able to be defined by their character? Dwarves in the fantasy setting do not refer to people with dwarfism whatsoever, so having them played by whoever shouldn't be an issue as long as they're made to look authentic to the character through cinematography. Like in your TLM example, she was black, but that doesn't matter as more importantly, she was able to sing, and was made to look like a mermaid so was fine to play the character. Basically, let's say they did cast them all with actors with dwarfism, then that only propagates the idea that they can't play any other characters since they'd be limited to being typecast as dwarves, goblins, gremlins, etc. It also would be used in the argument against having Halle play Ariel, as they had actresses who looked closer to the original Ariel. The choice they went with will still obviously have people crying the opposite way, how you're not giving the roles to people who fit them perfectly already, but imo, it's the lesser of two evils as I generally agree that I prefer in things such as this not based in real life, that whoever should be able to play whomever as long as they are able to act with the important qualities for the character, regardless of outward looks.
