The OS is extremely light because it removes most features that Mac OS has. Its basically like a phone, a few apps here and there, very limited settings, and a browser. That's all, and file management for texts, pictures, videos, that's it. I highly doubt North Korea can make a better OS than Windows for obvious reasons. The only impressive part of it is the sheer amount of spyware they managed to fit into it.

24:42 The reason you get the error message "connection reset" probably doesn't have to do anything with the fact that it's a North Korean OS or that the OS is actively blocking your connection to them, but rather the fact that the webserver you're trying to connect to is declining the version of the web browser that the OS is using. Maybe it's using an older HTTP protocol that the web server doesn't accept. And for the certificates, well, it's not because North Korean hate these HTTPS sites, the reason is that it's a closed down system, it doesn't have the known root certificates browsers like IE, Mozilla Chrome, etc have. If you install all the known root certificates, it'll probably work fine. Or maybe try installing another browser.
@0x8badf00d2 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's the HTTP version that's the issue. HTTP/1.0 *with host header* is still widely supported. I also tried HTTP/0.9 on those sites and they both responded 400 bad request, not just resetting the socket.

I am guessing htat is how their Intranet is set, while 10.76.1.11 must be their "Google" or something. And VPN's don't exist there. With a country with ONE ASN registerd, with 512IPs or 1024 IPs, I do not think anyone can rent a server there. And EVEN if you do, that's a local 10.0.0.0/8 IP so you still wouldn't be able to access that.

And NorthKorea has only ONE asn AS131279 with only 1000IP's Allocated to them. This is for governmental purposes, I do not think this can be sent over to any residental buildings or hotels at all. These can't, they just dont make sense at all. Maybe that meme stuff could be a exploit for leaking some resources from the One ASN. Anarchist forms of organization have been very successful in achieving higher standards of quality of life, better production, etc. The only problem is that they have been met with very extreme forms of reactionary violence. hex editors rely on the OS to tell them what's there. you'd need to either find a way to access the signatures (e.g. an insecurity if there's no exposed system call), or a way to write your own filesystem driver that does allow it.

It is cool how it forces 4-3 aspect ratio and all while that big TV they have in the outdoors is 4-3 aspect ratio too. Some koreans will like linux as a result so that is a positive. I do like 4-3 aspect ratio for multiple reasons _(e.g. it helps you "look-up" for spawn points or other things in FPS games like Halflife2 Lost-Coast style games, or e.g. it looks good on a smartphone screen no matter what way you tilt the screen landscape or portrait, or e.g. it looks good on a 4-3 iPad, or. e.g. it looks good on retro games and footage, or. e.g. it saves space with multiple monitors on a desk, or e.g. you can squeeze two 4-3 ratio screens one atop another in a vertical oriented monitor such as a gaming screen atop and then a VM below it for reading documents)._ As for filesystems, be it MSWindows or Linux or BSD (or Apple, RiscOS perhaps) or whatever, ReiserFS (or Reiser4, Reiser5) is a good choice in a journaling filesystem for being able to use it on many an OS. An example is ReiserDriver is an Installable File System Driver (IFSD), which can be used in combination with ways of using different file-systems on say a different HDD _(but remember to look for changes that help with a 16TB hard limit, and you will want to think over how to anticipate performance as the drive gets full)._ The ReiserFS is good for recovering files from errors and does not use so much RAM as say ZFS, generally. Consider using plugins from the version of Reiser4 and up. This information written above is to help people. My comment has no hate in it and I do no harm. I am not appalled or afraid, boasting or envying or complaining... Just saying. Psalms23: Giving thanks and praise to the Lord and peace and love. Also, I'd say Matthew6.
