Lisa’s speaking Thai and some Chinese and the trainees are speaking Chinese. They have earpieces in their ear and a translator that translates back and forth. Also Lisa is nice most of the time and harsh when she needs to be. And as someone who’s seen the whole show most people just put in clips when she’s being harsh because it’s funny/ good content that’s why non dancers think she’s mean when they watch the compilations.

she's sweet but when it isn't mentoring time. she had received way harsher training in her trainee days of 5 years but still persisted. that's why she's hard on these girls because she knows it's not a piece of cake.

The competition is in China actually and most of the trainees are Chinese. She's speaking Thai and English and not Korean because South Korea and China have bad blood. I guess she and YG's team decided to do that to ease tensions. Kpop isn't outright banned in China but the Chinese government has been cracking down on Kpop and the Kpop fandom policing and making sure it's not making much of a presence (there are records showing that they have been suspending Kpop fan accounts). Some groups like TWICE and BTS have also backed off on activities in China just so they don't have to go through all that mess. Let me clarify by saying I am in no way attacking the Chinese people, all I'm saying is done solely by the Chinese government. They're a communist party so it is in their government's best interests to restrict "outsider" culture. I know most of us don't want to go into politics but as people living in the West Leo and Ayo, what are your thoughts regarding this?

@UCZdDu_u-AfKrIyTm2nQp0pA Thanks for the info. Wow it's much bigger than I thought. UPDATED: Wow his/her comment was deleted. This is what it said: " up. Actually years ago, (C) hina has in fact outright ban n ed Kpop and any products from Korea. I think the pressure from the people made them ease the restrictions a bit but they're still there. I would say (C) hina is a country that is inherently like (N) orth Korea (ruled by K i m Jo n g-un) but far richer and is more open to the world. It doesn't change the fact that their government is similar to (N) orth Korea's that wants to censor public opinion and any negative response from their own people on China. I'm not saying the US and other democratic countries are any better but at least the people there are given a chance to voice out their opinions. for BTS case, (C) hina made the group limit their group activities as RM made comments about the Korean war, which involved China (which DID happen by the way). (C) hina is banning pretty much every cultural exports from South Korea. They keep making up more excuses to make the ban list longer. The Chinese government and n ati onalists are angry, insecure, and butthurt about the amount of pop culture influence South Korea has in China. Unfortunately for them, they can stop the money from flowing out, but they can’t stop the influence from flowing in. "

Also, the fact that I had to edit out my comment LEGIT 10 plus times just so it shows up on YT shows that their gov't's efforts on cen sori ng media critical of them has already spread even beyond their own country and that's sad but also alarming "

yeah TLDR; it's a huge mess that I and I'm sure a lot of people rather not involve ourselves in but just knowing about it is important.

You could've used better words than scary, like Strict or Savage. Cause in the kpop fandom world, the word Savage is used as something cool or fierce.
