Great explanation. I often use the pinning window or holes opposite the bible to remove the key pins first, _then_ use the core as the follower. (That's on an Abus 72/40; I've picked 1100s and I've repinned 1100s, but never picked, gutted, and reassembled them yet). I'm surprised I see no-one else do that.

Good video, the American Lock's been kicking my ass. I've taken all the pins but one out to get the feel and still have trouble cracking it.

Oddly, gutting with the spring in the middle seems to have advantages. Fewer mixups, less attention required for reassembly.

Those are weak springs!!! I haven't gutted my 1100. Now I'm curious. I remember my first pick and gut. It was a pain! I lost a spring, I had a hard time getting pins back in. Total mess. The second was better. The third went pretty smooth.

I started picking a few weeks ago. I'm. Know picking 1100s, paclocks, abus 83ls. I can disassemble and put back together. How do I get a belt??? 😐
