Boris V Spider those pods on top of the fuselage near the aft section is where the satellite dishes are. These dishes provide something called kA band and ku band frequency which has the same broadband speed as your 3G and 4G network. They are synonymous with their large hump and can easily be recognisable.

12/15 - 80%. Confidence inspiring. Zero flying hours but I know how to taxi, increase thrust, rotate, gear-up, bug-up, adjust flaps, and switch on autopilot. I think. That would make for a bad captain's announcement. Haha. I'll leave the flying to the experts. But I would love to try a simulator.

I live in Lubbock Texas and our airport is a popular spot for aircraft to come practice crosswind take offs and landings. In fact Boeing has brought their 737-800 Max and they’d 787 Dreamliner here to test against our winds. Some days they can blow 30 knots and gust up to 50-70 knots. They cancel flights on the 50-60 knot wind days. But a normal day here has around here 10-20 knot wind.

As a private pilot with less than 200 hours flying Cessna 172s and Cherokee 140s, I can really see how nice it'd be to have a co-pilot. Just having someone to call "Speed Check" when raising or lowering the flaps or calling out "VR"would be great.
@mrvwbug44235 жыл бұрын
The weathervaning is something I had heard about ages ago but had forgotten about, but have experienced regularly when I fly in X Plane (the aircraft turning into the wind on takeoff in a crosswind). The assumed temp on derate is still something I am trying to learn for 737 (the 767 seems to automatically derate based on OAT). Airbus just calculates it for you automatically on the A320s. I am just a lowly simulator pilot, but still enjoy trying to make the experience as realistic as I can get, and I have fairly accurately modeled versions of the 737-800, A319, and 767-300 in X Plane.

But I loved the video, now I understand even more why the airplanes "behave" so differently at take-offs, because different conditions requires quite different actions. By the way: the roughest landing in my life was in a Ryanair 737, and the softest landing ever, extremly soft where I didn't notice the touch down at all, was a Ryanair 737 too. Thank you for your diligent presentation of details. Would you please comment on small airplane techniques that are apparently not applicable to the NG? In mind are taking off in a slip such that the airplane rolls and then flies down the center line while also pointed straight down the runway - contrary to the video showing a plane crabbing severely while still somewhat supported by the wheels. Also, one can clear the ground rapidly and positively by holding the aircraft down on the runway to a higher rotation speed. The wings produce plentiful lift at higher speed without the need for a high AOA helping avoid tail strike.
