Large Professor is a great interview, rapper & producer. Love his positivity. I knew about Large Professor early 1990s making trips to Flushing Queens, NY from Yonkers, NY to visit family. His work with Nas, Rakim, Kool G Rap & Cormega stand out for me.

Observation: Large Professor’s (for lack of a better term) problem was that he had pure intentions in a filthy industry. He wasn’t trying to “sign” or profit off the next man to come up, he wanted everyone to shine in their own right. Nas wanted him to executive produce “Illmatic” but he turned it down. He could have been one of those cats on some “yeah, I’ll EP it and I’ll produce the whole joint…” Instead he pulled in Q-Tip and Pete Rock while Nas reached out to DJ Premier and L.E.S. Large Pro’s name may not ring out the way it truly deserves to but to those that know, Holmes is nothing but a legend…

Was on another channel where a brotha asked which was the better group, Gangstarr or Pete Rock and CL Smooth? Love both groups but I'm a EPMD man myself. 🤔 With Large Pro, Primo, Pete Rock, Q-Tip, and L.E.S. doing production on Illmatic, I wonder why Erick Sermon never was put on production for "Illmatic"? Regardless, Large Professor produced two of my favorite tracks from "Illmatic" which are "Halftime" and "It Ain't Hard To Tell". Large Pro, Primo, Pete Rock, Q-Tip, Erick Sermon, RZA, Da Beatminerz, and Havoc were all instrumental in the sound of the "Golden Era". Can't forget Common's "Resurrection Extra P. Remix". A CLASSIC by Large Professor! 🫡

Mecca 🤦🏾♂️ Mr. Emotional 🙄 No, sir! You sound scorn!! You're not from FBA 🇺🇸 culture to understand that fashion is a major part of the hip-hop cultural uniform! So, it does matter how you look, dress, appear, and drive. Act as if you belong, like Math said! You don't look the part, because you aren't the part, my friend! Russell Simmons is hip-hop. He wore the culture on his sleeve! So, he doesn't have to "dress" the part!:Because he is the part!! 📣

2:07 You must've never attempted to cut overgrown grass. It's full of moisture and resistance. In terms of your analogy of machines v grass roots, if your grassroot methods are prolific and well watered and nurtured, not even big machines can cut you down without your time under extreme weather and pressure destroys the machines sheers. Those machine blades can't effectively get through the grass blades.
