Lots of love to the person who just got out of a toxic/controlling relationship. I'm four years out of one now, and I'm just now coming to terms with the fact that aspects of that relationship still haunt me and might always, even now that I'm totally over that person in a romantic sense. Give yourself a lot of grace, don't compare your progress to other people who are getting over breakups, and surround yourself with people who remind you that you don't deserve to be treated that way. It gets better. Xx

Random thought: I really like that you're not using background music in your chatty videos! It's weirdly calming and I often find that music is just distracting

You hit the nail on the head about implementing preventative measure to help w anxiety attacks. Noticing I'm starting to feel anxiety, acknowledging it, and then diffusing it/distracting myself before it blows up has been so so helpful to me in managing it.

As far as avoiding unloading anxiety on your partner, for me, the answer is unequivocally JOURNALING. When I start writing down what I'm feeling, usually a pattern will emerge and I'll be able to identify some of what's bothering me, or at least I'll get myself out of some of the circles I've been trapped in. If nothing else it helps to be able to look at how you're feeling on paper instead of just inside your head. Anyways, I find it makes it SO much more manageable for me and the person I'm expressing myself to if I've done this first - it helps identify what's actually bothering me and gives me a trial run of putting my feelings into words before I try explaining them to another person. (and another note: I think this can work the other way if someone has trouble expressing their emotions. Spending some time reflecting and trying to articulate your thoughts alone with paper can help figure out what's going on internally, which helps if you're having trouble expressing yourself to people when they ask how you're doing/what's wrong)

I realised that I was addicted to my phone and going on Social Media, so at the moment I'm taking time away from it. I've deleted Instagram and Facebook to try and break the habit of constantly picking up my phone. My plan is about 1-2 months while I've got time off from Uni and it's going well so far (2 weeks in).

Hey, is it possible you misunderstood the last question? I thought it was about what to do when you feel jealous about your current boyfriend's exes. I believe you answered how to deal with your exes new girlfriend? But maybe the confusion is on my part here :)

I feel like with the whole “I haven’t had my first .....” situation is ridiculous! I first had sex at 18 whilst most of my close friends did so by 16 but for me it was literally the fact that there was no situation prior that would make me then lose my virginity and what’s wrong with that?! It’s crazy, once I had my first relationship I realised how it literally doesn’t matter which feels stupid when hearing it whilst you are a “virgin”.

I personally think it would be great if you couldn't see how many likes other people's stuff got on instagram, just comments. I don't think it is that big a deal for adults and influencers honestly, but thinking about the amount of children and pre-teens comparing the amount of likes they get (even if it is subconsciously) is sickening. They are the ones who will place real value on it, grow up with it being a mark of popularity at school and all that, especially because entire schools follow each other. I also strongly believe that the Explore page should be optional, you should be able to turn it off, maybe it would be replaced with a little switch you could click to turn it back on.

So I had this casual relationship with this guy for like half a year, it was nice, he was funny and we had lots of fun. About a month ago I realized that I reeally liked him and that I was falling in love for the first time. As I told him I wanted us to be official, he didn't want us to be. It hurt me so much. How do I overcome the pain of rejection?

on a seperate note: can we also acknowledge how disgusting it is that 18- the first year of legal adulthood- is when people typically start freaking out about being late to having sex? that’s really always bothered me that the assumption is that teenagehood is the “normal” time to have sex? what kind of oversexualisation of teenagers bullshit is that?
