The M21 is better than the M22. The M21 has a better FOV and doesn't wash out as easily as the M22. That's right. The M22 light collection ports are not that good. You still need a back up light source to eliminate the washout. The REM 21(Reticle Enhancement Module) that fits the M21 can be adapted to fit the M22.

I agree with the FOV, but that's a sacrifice they made to make it more compact. Seeing them side by side, I disagree about the light collection being worse on the M22, but it desperately needs the polarizing lens for sure.

@@EchoDelta2ALook through both sights from inside a dimly lit room out into a bright day. You will see that the M22 reticle is a lot weaker (invisible) than the M21 reticle. To me the weight savings is not worth the sacrifice.

I found this one to be dimmer than my M21. It could benefit from an illuminator which I ended up adding to mine on top of the polarizer and adjustable shade.

So what's in the main body since it has no elections? Seems like it's a little thicker than it needs to be. Also, do we have any idea when the other colors will be available?

Fiber optic coil, along with tritium. Most of the density of the body is strictly to make it robust and durable in combat. All available colors will be red, amber, and green.

I seen both these and ACOGs on their rifles in the current unpleasantness. Speaking to soldiers, they say these are holding up.

How do you change the reticle to a triangle?

Can't really change it to my knowledge. You have to buy the variant with the reticle you want. Their electronic optics give you the option to change reticles though. Like their Foresight optic.

How shameless! All the problems that the Meprolight M21 had still exist. The only thing that has changed is the chassis. The selection only has two styles of reticle. It seems that they think their customers are stupid.😂🎉

Not sure what problems you're referring to. Any dual illuminated optic will always be outperformed by battery optics when it comes to brightness, but the M21 had been perfectly fine in battle for a long time, as did the original ACOG. If you really need more illumination, they sell the plug in that's battery powered for extra brightness. Other than that, it's a tank and it will never die on you, day or night. Not perfect, but it works
