Glad to know I’m everyone’s enemy and trying to disqualify them, because our liaisons love me and are happy when their applicants get me, because I will patiently explain the medical waiver system and be upfront with whether your DQs are likely waiver able or not. Here’s the thing: my job is to QUALIFY people safely for their health and success in basic as well as their peers. Period. Videos like this may represent some bad doctors at MEPS, but it doesn’t represent me.

Hey, can you give me an honest opinion as a MEPS doctor on if you or others like you would likely DQ me for this? About a year and a half ago, I subscribed to the telehealth company “Hims” and had a measly ONE consultation with a psychiatrist (wasn’t even an actual Psychiatrist but a NP)and they ended up diagnosing me with depression and anxiety and prescribing an SSRI that I refused and did not take once. Never had an in person evaluation, phone call, video chat or anything. LITERALLY 1 paragraph consultation. Only reason I reached out to them was simply a situational life reason causing me stress. But regardless of why, this now lingers on my medical records. I never have in my life and currently do not deal with depression, I don’t deal with anxiety other than normal life anxieties that every one deals with. the whole website is a money grab.

@@TeeCee-mq1fv Here’s the skinny: MEPS doctors have zero control over the medical guidelines. There is no wiggle room. Being diagnosed with anxiety or depression within the previous 36 months and being prescribed medication (even if you never take a single pill) for any Neuropsych issues in last 36 months (24 months for ADHD meds) is a disqualification. What is commonly miscommunication is that any disqualification will keep you out of enlisting, which is a huge lie. It just means that it needs a medical waiver. If you are upfront with exactly the details you gave, provide records including pharmacy records to show how short lived it was, there is zero reason for it not to get a medical waiver. Not sure why everyone is so confused over it. I blame recruiters.

Jacksonville MEPS was a nightmare. 6 doctors short and they stop doing blood work and urinalysis by noon because of how early fedex picks up their samples.

in dallas they wanted to end it by 11am, was pretty chill though, some people had cold stares looked like they hated their jobs other than that was ok nice drs

Broke my wrist a long time ago, hasn’t affected me and never hurts or bothers me. But I didn’t disclose with recruiter and being sent to MEPS Monday.. should I let him know before going? Also does toe fungus DQ?

Most likely. The system gets better all the time. And JLV for prior service and military dependents is always accurate. Better to disclose than it be in your exam note that you concealed it.

MEPS can see more that 95% of your medical record. You singed a document that agreed to this to get to the MEPS. Don't lie at the beginning, middle or end. The doctors at MEPS already know and you made more work for them if you lied, so they wont be happy.
