Argentinian here. The situation affects MELI in the short term but strengthens it in the long term. With the recession, inflation is coming down and loans are starting to appear. We are weeks/months ahead of an investment boom.

Tpv and active users are in all the materials for the q, ad revenue I can’t find but I don’t remember seeing it last q either

Hi Bryan, great video as usual! One question: should one not deduct from FCF the cash they re-invest in their loan portfolio because it is a form of maintenance capex (ie, in order to maintain the same level of cashflow going fwd they have to re-invest part of the cashflow in the loan portfolio and so it cannot be used freely used by the company)?

The fact that Argentina is a huge issue but MELI still presented such strong results is quite impressive. As an investor, I am very happy. In fact, after the previous Earnings (that caused the huge drop in MELI's valuation) I literally doubled my position. I would not be surprised to see MELI at the psichologic $2000 mark (or equivalent if a Stock Split ends up happening at some point - although I must say I would prefer not to have a split) if the overall market remains bullish.

I love your reverse DCF sheet. Have you ever thought about using a formula so you don’t have to manually calculate FCF growth rate every time? I’m guessing you intentionally like to see how different growth rates impact the share price.

Serious question.. with a market cap well over 160B how big do you really think this thing can get? Do you really think you can get a 10x from a company this size? Don’t you think by that point alone it’s likely not a great investment from a RR prospective? Not even taking into account it being in a communist dictatorship controlled country with a declining population growth… yikes.

Their fcf is not meaningful they way Apple’s fcf is meaningful.
