Two cousins are speaking out on the recent kidnapping of several members of their family, including a baby from Merced County.
“My uncle, my aunt, and my cousin immigrated here in the early 2000s, seeking the American dream, through dedication and hard work to obtain that goal. Yesterday, that American dream became the American nightmare.”

The gentleman with the hat is so well mannered and communicates so well! Kudos to him and I have your whole family in my prayers. There are so many Punjabis in that Merced - Livingston area -- and they are such nice people with a great culture! Both Mexican and Punjabis are the majority in that region of the state.

One of the Family members did know him , he owned a trucking company the suspect went to jail for robbing his old boss who also had a trucking business ,he was on the phone and met with him outside, he should’ve been on alert when he is wearing a hood zipped and comes with a bag full of i don’t know what …I feel very sorry for this tragedy , I would’ve never cooperated with him , you got two people rush him if you get shot , hope to live for another day … I know they didn’t expect this to happen but they didn’t give up the money they he was hoping for , that’s why he took the wife , the moment he looked at that camera was when he knew I’m going to jail so might as well just end everyone . I wish they would’ve have fought back

Watching this interview two days later, already knowing the outcome of this horrific crime and act of evil makes it even more difficult and impossible not to be affected and moved to tears just thinking about what this family is currently going through at this moment with the devastation and that innocent little precious baby that was left to die in the field all alone next to her already diseased family. The entire story is devasting. I still think there are steps they could have taken to prevent this outcome. In the video, Jasdeep walks in front of the criminal and says something to him while paying more attention to his cell phone as he was looking down texting; at least it looked like Jasdeep was texting as he was walking up to the office that morning. The murderer was behind him, holding a white bag and hiding the gun dressed all in black attire. Another thing, if the harassment from the criminal went on for a year, they should have used those messages as evidence and reported Salgado to law enforcement. Not that the police will solve the problem, but they would have discovered his criminal background to at least prevent this ending. Lastly, there are men worldwide asking themselves why these two men kidnapped didn't even try to fight back. Their hands were tied, not their feet or legs; we know there was a gun involved, but if you are going to get killed either way, at least die fighting or try. So, the American dream does work when you protect it and take steps to protect yourself and your family. We don't live in a bubble; we need to be proactive in our community to keep safe. Being friendly and naive doesn't pay.

According to the reported time line from when the perpetrator (suspect) left with the 2 men, and then returned, it was about 6 minutes approximately, therefore, if he continued driving it would take about 3 minutes approximately for him to drive and stop somewhere, and turn around to return to the original location, where he then took the woman and her baby. Depending on how fast he was driving it would be a couple miles away, 1 to 3 miles away approximately. Unless this perpetrator had someone else in another vehicle waiting who took them. Somehow the perpetrator had to stop at some point soon afterwards, because he returned in a relatively short time period. I am Praying for this Kidnapped Family, a wife, husband, uncle and baby daughter were kidnapped. Praying that they will Be found Safe, and and found Quickly. Praying that the Singh Family is found Safe to stop and then drive back to return.
