Mercedes 2008-2014 C300 C250 GLK350 won't crank, won't start. Try this, it might get you home.

If your steering lock has failed, you will get a no crank no start situation. No red and yellow dash lights when you turn the key. No crank, no start.
Sometimes, jolting the steering lock by moving the steering wheel left and right with strong force will unlock the steering wheel, giving you the ability to start your car. Do this with the key inserted into the ignition switch.
If it starts, you can drive your car. Don't remove the key from the EIS, if you do, it will lock up again. Call us and we will program a ESL emulator to replace the faulty steering lock. This won't happen again, after installing the ESL emulator.

@@sotopr7 aftermarket. No I don’t reprogram used OEM keys. It’s a tedious process, takes four times as long to get it done. An after market key is a quick inexpensive option and they are just as reliable as the OEM keys.

Before I purchase, the problem I am having is that the key fob battery keeps dying after 3 to 4 days, do I need a new one or is there something I can do?
