I don't understand how a new sleeve for the sprint solve this issue, but I do have this problem. Is it because the original one has spun in the socket, is it simply the only way to access the motor and reset the teeth on the gear?

First you need to open the frame. After cleaning and lubricating the end position tip this kit is needed to be able to put the mirror frame back together again. Most mirror frames are rolled together from the factory, the only way to repair is to use this kit or you should think of a solution yourself how to assemble it. The problem is in this end lock stick,it oxidizes in the socket. You clean/lubricate and it works again.

Hey man! Great video! I got somthing wrong with my mirror on w166 ML! The mirror do not fold in some times! I think something wrong with gears or motor! Did your repair kit works on w166 chassis? Thank you!

Hi, w166 fits this kit, first check that the wiring is OK, if the wiring is ok then probably the device motor itself olso may be faulty. The main problem when moving from the end position is the simple diagnosis. But if the mirror closes and opens barely, then you may also be dealing with the transfer of oxide and then you can probably clean and lubricate it. Then the set I offered is needed for assembly.

How do you put the washer over the pipe? I guess you have to compress the spring simultaneously, right? Is there a special tool needed to do that?

Hello, you are right, you need to use a suitable size of a socket wrench or a piece of pipe both up and down. Compression is done by turning with bench vices. I also apologize for the late reply
