Probably the best van ever made, a leaf spring at each corner, straight beam axle with king pins, unburstable mechanics, good luck with it.

100% agree with you there!!! We did have to replace our front axle as the king pins had ceased but proper solid now! 😁

Hey guys. I have a similar van, and there are a few very easy spruce up steps to give Marvin a bit of a facelift. The front bumper is easily removable, as is the grill with the Mercedes marque on it. A quick alcohol clean, and satin black spray paint from Halford's. The dark black will make Marvin look like an absolute legend. Same goes for the rear bumper. He's a dinger!

Great camper van , good old Mercedes!! I’ve got a 207d 1983 camper van that I’m currently renovating. The engines are apparently called million Mile engines 👍🏻

Hi we bought a 207d motorhome been renovating and updating the inside for past 3 months while on lock down she is 98% completed and taking her on our first road trip this week wanted to check the oil and water I think I’ve found the boot catch under the footwell of the passenger side ? I’ve pulled the lever but can’t open the boot any help would be much appreciated ASAP

Thats where our leaver is to open it too, you have to pull it quite hard to actually pop it. It might be broken though. Our advice would be to ask on some of the Mercedes t1 facebook groups, I'm sure someone else will have had that problem and have a solution! good luck!! 🤞🤞

TwoHumansBeing yeah I thought that was it I got someone to pull it while I opened the bonnet was fine opened no problem we took her for a 920 round trip from Cumbria to penryn in Cornwall to visit family she drove no problem there and back love the older merc motorhomes loads of room and head room

I'm looking at vans - so wait, the MPG for a US gallon is around 23 you think? So that's considerably better than a full weight VW Westfalia right?

Its about 20mpg! We don't really go over 60mph on the motorway, It will do 70mph but that gets scary!!!

Unfortunately the carpet was that dirty when we bought the van and we have since replaced it with vinyl. Much easier to clean! :)
