Wanted to see if you have any ideas. I have had the ac evacuated and recharged twice in the last two weeks. Blew cold for a few days the first time, the stopped completely. The schrader valve on the high side was bubbling out. Got new schrader valves and caps, had it done the second time, and it was blowing even colder than the first time. Now, 3 days later, it blows cold half the time and not the rest of the time. Any idea what the issue could be? Edit: And when he did the second evacuate and recharge, he said it hadn't lost barely any refrigerant, like .02 ounces.

Hi Bruce; First off I would check to see if your compressor is consistently engaging, if the gap is out of whack the clutch magnet won't always pull the clutch in to engage the compressor. If that's fine then I'd put gauges on it to read the pressures, there could be an obstruction in the line. There could also be an issue with the expansion valve, a piece of dirt could cause this to malfunction. That is it your system has that, some use an orifice tube instead. I hope this helps you. @@PaulPhillipsFix Thanks for the reply. The compressor does engage and run consistently. I don't have guages, but the guy who did it said it all looked good. I changed the evap temp sensor today, since it was reading all over the place, I thought that might be the problem. It's still reading all over the place. It fluctuates from 60s when working to 100 when not working, and 80s when it's barely working. The heater core temps read right around where the evap temp is at all times it seems. This morning, I started it and it blew cold for my less than ten minute drive, and then when I ran it later it got hot again. Compressor was still running. I was so hoping this would be an easy fix. It might end up being a winter only car.
