The only selling point for this car is the power. But then realizing that it has a 4 cylinder with fake sounds from the speakers and a normal C - class Body wich is not wider than a normal C180 is just sad. Look at BMW they make the M3 body wider as the normal 3series. The only parts which different it from a normal c class are the front and back bumper and the front fenders and 4 tips exhaust. I love that AMG is not selling any of these. They are now waking up and see that it’s not just about the power of a car it’s everything else too.

Hmm, also für mich hat es ja schon ein Geschmäckle, wenn ein 135k teurer Hobel bei "schon" 287 km/h abgeriegelt ist. Mein Civic fährt auch 272 kmh und kostete neu ein Viertel... Dann doch lieber nen gebrauchten Oldscool C63 Verbrenner, der (als NEUWAGEN) wesentlich günstiger daher kam und mit "nur" 500 PS dieselbe vmax brachte (als Gebrauchtwagen entsprechend skaliert). Oder mit dem Budget von "lachhaften" 135 großen Schleifen gleich woanders schauen und sich über solche Kompromisse / Restriktion gar nicht erst ärgern brauchen... denn wer "BESCHLEUNIGUNG" sucht wird woanders glücklicher, VMAX dito ... und wer VERBRENNERSOUND sucht ... bleibt bei der alten Generation mit großem Hubraum und will eh kein Hybrid mit Fake-Sound-Generator-Unterstützung.

the engine is light? the PETROL engine is light. this cars powertrain is a lot heavier than the v8. people who bought the c63 were not the people who wanted performance out of the car, yet (straight line) performance has become its only selling point. the previous selling point and why people loved it was the v8 ICE, the sound and the goofy fun behaviour of the car while driving. thats why people bought it. an m3 always has been the better performer, not to mention the porsche's who are driving in a different league. but mercedes destroyed the only reason why people used to buy this car. and if you think im not correct, let the facts talk and see how well it sold.

Oh yeah, they saved 50kg so they could add add in a 200kg hybrid system on top. They saved so much weight the new car's almost 500kg heavier than the old one. Great logic right there matey, a display of great intelligence. Additionally, speaking about 'car-kids' when you missed the entire point of what makes an AMG charming is really ironic. Go back to your usual toys (probably a Golf) and stop opining about things you don't understand.

The sad thing is that mercedes expects the customers to pay their (close to) 200 k euros for an ordinary 4 banger. No way. 😤 For that cash people expect something really special. For 60-70k you can buy a VW Golf GTi. Maybe a Golf R for 10k more. But for 200k you want more than that. It is not about performance but the total experience. The v8 might be slower but offered so much more character. And then this 4 cilinder is such a dramatic step back and can never ever offer the same.
