Ability to change passengers seat adjustment from drivers position is one of the best things I love. So many situations where a new passenger enters in my car after my child has been sitting next to me and sits in highly lifted seat without understanding that there is an adjustment buttons for seat.

Having the ability to control the passenger side seat from the driverside is actually highly convenient. How many times have you wanted to move the passenger seat back or forward from the driver side and have to do a Yoga pose to reach the opposite side of the passenger seat to hit the button??? This is actually genius IMO.

9:00 I am surprised that you don’t know what that’s for… chauffeurs can move the seat forward for more rear passenger legroom… or if you had it pushed forward because you had a child seat in the back, you can move it back just when someone’s about to hop in next to you. It’s actually very useful I wish I had that in my car

Objectively, the BMW X5 50e is a performing car for the price. Subjectively, the MB may have a slight edge exterior design wise, but overall I'd say the X5 is superior in form follows function.

I agree with you on the fishnet seat-back pockets and the running boards. Shockingly the GLE doesn’t even have Digital Key nor a Digital Rearview mirror. I wonder what the price increase will be on these once it arrives in the US. The GLE has gotten crazy expensive already.

@clancep digital rear view mirror is similar piece of unwanted "inventions" which I hope will dissappear in the future like gesture controls. To the car itself and the review. Side steps are crap, too narrow. You can option it without. Looks much better without. Have new, well new- I own it from new since 03/2024 WITHOUT plug in. Rory keeps praising the plug in variant, but is actually worst car out of all in GLE range. It gained almost 500kg over the standard GLE53. It has waaaay to stiff and uncomfortable suspension even in most comfort setting. GLE53 is already slightly less comfy than standard non amg GLE. Yes and - NEVER BUY IT WITH 22inch. So my advice? Buy standard GLE53 on 21inch wheels, option with multicontour seats, add the exclusive leather (not that crap Rory was testing), soundproofed glass options and yiu have a comfort cruiser. I did already 51 000km and can't make single complaint. But God no- do not ruin it with plugin.

@@biafo4541 German headlights all have vents of some sort in the back, they're not totally sealed. Combine that with manufacturing defects and you get excessive buildup with the odd headlight here and there.

For a person as fertile as you, you would know that children usually sit diagonally to the driver and the leg space could always be better. So you would use the passenger seat option to move the seat to mage more leg room.

What ain't broke don't fix and they clearly did that here a big car with a good engine and secondly a big big battery one everyone can complain oh my gosh it's a hybrid on my days no it's a working moving vehicle one it's economical to its quick three it will probably outlast all the electric variants and secondly you still have a big ish engine it may not be a V8 but it's still more than four cylinders and one it's got that nine speed that nine speed gearbox is so good

this is what you DONT want to do with hybrids. Trying to be good at both but at what cost? The full electric comes with aerodynamic compromise, no AC charger, no 7 sets option etc and the petrol i assume will consume a lot more juice for the extra weight that comes with it. Its a lose lose from both world. That doesnt include the ownership costs that comes with it since it is a hybrid that requires extra mantainance. They need to learn from Honda or something to make a hybrid great lol

I’ll take my $90k X5 50e every day of the week. I get 50 miles of range, a legendary B58 inline 6 cyl with 490 underrated HP. BMW over Benz all day. I voted not with my 👄 but with my $$$.

​@@c190gtc This AMG will smoke EQC on highways. I do German highways frequently at top speeds with GLE53 (non-hybrid) and there's hardly any pure electric SUV car that can be pushed this much. This includes e-trons etc. Once Hyundai Ioniq N (fully electric) tried to compete with me - no chance to my surprise as that car on paper looks strong with all that HP but he couldn't beat me at speeds 220Km/h+ then the driver just gave up as going long streches around 250Km/h must be draining battery big time.

Call me crazy. I'd rather have a full ICE car or a full electric car. Not a plug in. Seems like the worst of both world to me. I guess it might be nice to use electric for short distances on a plug in. But you have to make sure your car has fuel and electricity, seems like a hassle to me. Less storage space certainly isn't ideal either.
