2023 here. same car. I had to replace for a new gearbox. I assume that the new gearbox has all this problems fixed permanently.

​@@blackjackenergy6784 hi. it's complex. basically my clutch had some wear and it made the car to be lazy and have some problems moving from a complete stop, specially in an inclination. so I went to Bosch car service to be replaced. The issue is that the gearbox company that does this maintenance for them, they refused to touch it because of the known issues about the noises etc. plus, it had some issue when you WOT from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. it would rev for half a second and then shift to 3rd, and yes, it would make the noises while cold from P to N, P to R and N to R. Sometimes, P or N to D. Another issue was on 4th and 6th gear it would make a strange variation up and down if you didn't accelerate or maintain the speed, like imagine doing engine braking in 4th or 6th and see the RPM going down but oscillating like you were pressing the clutch on and off. I also replaced the dual-mass flywheel because the springs lost some their strength, I noticed this at 3 kRPM the steering wheel vibrated a bit. So, in the end, with the car half disassembled, I asked a quote on Mercedes for a new gearbox and they quoted one that had been rebuilt with the same warranty as new and some discount for returning the old one. made the deal and the guys replaced it and they had to call Mercedes, again, to program the TCU and ECU in order to accept the new gearbox. they did some fine tuning and now it's like new. no noises in cold, responsive, no issues moving from stop in inclinations. The new gearbox with all this problems is fixed by this OEM code: A2463706302 (for the A45 AMG W176052 - 2013, with M133 engine).

@@pushdword Thanks Mine does but is because i did put gears in cold temperature so i think Its normal The car runs perfectly fine Very good performance Sometimes Yes, when i am stopped at an inclination street and i press the accelerator the car makes the noise of the engine, and then it gives a little of “launch” xD but i think Its normal and Its rarelly so…

@@blackjackenergy6784 I'd suggest that you save to replace for a new one in the future. I use to say "if you don't schedule maintenance for your car, it schedules it for you.". a broken gearbox can cause other issues in other components. better safe than sorry.

Have you ever had to do the thermostat on this and can you do it underneath the car by just removing the downpipe? Mine is needing done and merc are wanting 1200 pounds just to do the job.

Is it getting a new gearbox because you are putting in a gearbox with a locking front diff option ? And your new gearbox doesn't seem like it has the dual clutch on it. I think the dual clutch stays with the transmission here. and there are $7000 worth of Mercedes tools needed to remove the dual clutch. Can you show how you removed the dual clutch ?

Its a very complex work. You need to remove the intake manifold to acces the thermostat from the top.

My 2016 GLA45 started doing this a few weeks ago. When I tried talking with the dealer/service, they initially said it was normal, but I insisted and mentioned all the history on various forums, groups and youtube. That got their attention. They now are pulling the engine/transmission and first want to open the transmission, to see if they can fix it. I would prefer an updated transmission with a solution to this syncro failure. Putting the same new parts in the transmission is unacceptable. Do you know if your new transmission has any updated synro parts, to avoid this happen at a later date? Also, is your new transmission still running well? Thanks so much for posting your video!

Hallo. Mit welchem silberband hast du den niederdrucktemperaturschlauch überklebt? Sieht gut aus! Ich meine den schlauch der an der designabdeckung reibt. Habe einen halter abgemacht und den betroffenen schlauch heruntergedrückt,nur habe ich auf den schlauch normales filz drüber geklebt und das sieht blöd aus.

The synchronisation was dead. When you switched from Parking to Reverse or Drive, the gearbox made strange noises.

Moin also mein a45e1 hab ich im März 2014 entgegen genommen und habe jetzt 45k.km runter , bis jetzt keinen mechanischen defekt :) bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Mobil. Was mich stört sind die Recaro sitze die schon 2 mal ausgebaut wurden wegen extremen knarz bzw. krachenden geräuschen im Sitzbereich und an der Rückenlehne, es fängt auch schon wieder langsam an.

Engines are reliable as they used forged internals to handle the power, gearboxes are known failure points which is engine out to fix

Hey moin moin. Warum hast du das Getriebe bei dir getauscht?? Hab auch einen A45 ... Nach wie viel Km hast du es getauscht?? Hab auch gelesen das der Facelift nen anderes Getriebe hat.. Würde mich über ne Antwort freun:) Sonst sind deine Videos echt super :) und man kann viel selber an der karre machen

Mein Getriebe habe ich bei ungefähr 36600 km getauscht. Grund dafür waren vor allem beim kalten Zustand Geräusche und ein Ruckeln wenn man von P auf R schaltet. Die Synchronisierung ist wohl bei den Getrieben ziemlich anfällig. Also wenn du noch Garantie hast, dann ab zu Mercedes. Bei mir ging es komplett über die Garantie. Die Mopf-Modelle haben ein überarbeitetes Getriebe u.a. mit küzeren Übersetzungen der Gänge 3-7.

Wie es aussieht arbeitest du ja bei mercedes :) Was soll ich meinen händler den sagen,warum ich mein getriebe getauscht haben will?? weil meinerauch das laute klack klack beim gang einlegen von p auf d oder p auf r macht?? die ersten a 45 hatte ja schon getriebe probleme und wurden nach paar monaten mit nem verstärkten ausgerüstet,wie bei mir der fall..meiner ist nach erstzulassung nach der pannen serie der getriebe. okay du nutzt deinen a 45 auch viel auf dem ring:) ja der mopf hat nen anderes getriebe bzw auch mit der übersetzung :) bekomm ich dann auch das mopf getriebe,mit neuer sodtware ??falls es getauscht wird :)?? wird die motorsoftware auch überspielt??hab meinen auf 420 ps getunt und fahre damit schon seit 18000km mit rum und hab eig keine probleme mit motor und turbo.. gruss aus nrw

Also wir haben über das Tips-Fallmodul (ein Programm zur Unterstützung der Werkstätten) Kontakt mit Daimler aufgenommen. Dort haben wir die Beanstandung geschildert. Dann werden noch Daten aus dem Motor- und Getriebesteuergerät ausgelesen und über dieses Tips zu Daimler geschickt. Die Werten die Daten aus und haben dann entschieden das das Getriebe erneuert werden soll. Wenn du ein Chip-Tuning verbaut hast, kann es unter Umständen sein das Daimler das über die ausgelesenen Daten mitbekommt. Und dann übernimmt die Garantie nichts. Wenn du ein neues Getriebe bekommst, wird es nicht das Mopf-Getriebe sein, aber du bekommst neue Getriebesoftware auf das neuen Getriebe draufgespielt. Die Motorsoftware bleibt gleich.

Das neue Getriebe was du bekommst...soll es anders sein wie das was zuerst verbaut war? Falls ich auch ma dieses Flexxen oder komisches Getriebe Geräusch bekomme,werd ich die Motorsoftware zurücksetzen:) Bei mir müsste noch alles normal sein:)Das normale Klong Klong beim Gang einlegen ist ja normal. Ein Soundbeispiel von nem defekten Getriebe hast du sicher nicht oder? Sowas würde sicher viele A45 Fahrer beruhigen,ob Ihr Getriebe normal läuft oder nicht ;) Noch ne allgemeine Frage,hast du auch diese starken Vibrationsgeräusche aus dem Motorraum , bei steigender Drehzahl? Bei mir wird jetzt zum 2 mal hinten rechts die Steuerung von der Abgasklappe getauscht,weil die wieder am klappern ist Ich bin auf die neue Generation gespannt,es soll ein eine AMG version sein mit e motor ;) und an den 400 Ps kratzen. Ne, ich glaube nicht das das eine Ölspülung was gebracht hätte. Das liegt vermutlich an der Synchronisierung. Das DKG arbeiten ja quasi wie ein manuelles Getriebe, nur das die Gänge eben automatisiert geschalten werden. Bei den Wandlerautomatikgetrieben ist eine Ölspülung schon deutlich effektiver. Meine A-Klasse ist bei uns jetzt die 2. mit dem Problem und im Forum liest man auch vermehrt darüber. Scheint schon so eine Art Schwachstelle zu sein. Und ja, Motor habe ich selber ausgebaut, man brauch ca. 2-3 Tage, ist aber an und für sich eine schöne Arbeit :)

were they grinding noises like the ones it's been recorded in fl models? or maybe clunk noise when setting r-n-d from P? was it really loud?when I am in the garage I can hear a subtle clunk and maybe feel it too. some fl models made a really loud grinding noise though.

Quiet noises, when you change the driving position are normal. But the noise on my gearbox was much louder. Its like the noise you get when you release the clutch pedal to early while shifting on a manual gearbox.

Seems like the best spot for the AC compressor and lines would be right next to the down pipe before the cat, lol. Typical German engineering. Glad you caught it while it was under warranty ( “guarantee” ). Maybe you can post what the replacement would have cost had you been charged for the repair ? What country is this in ? We don’t get the A45 here in the US, but we get the CLA and my fav the GLA45

It's in germany. Changing the gearbox is very expensive. 5000-6000 € i think.

The movement in the output of the transmission was audible when you first touched it. Then the second time with the new trans it did not have that slack. Is that where the problem was?

Oh god, I read about this problem on the UK AMG forums.. When I took delivery of my facelift A45 I asked if they knew about this problem since they already sold alot of A45's. And they said they havn't heard about it yet.. I hope they solved this problem on the Facelifts -_- because i had gearbox problems on my previous car just when the warranty expired.... also this blows my mind that you have to take the whole car apart to change the gearbox HOLY F I will cry if this happens to mine.

The facelift models have a over-worked and improved gearbox, so i think they don´t have the problem.

Hast bestimmt mit dem Rückwärtsgang bei kaltem Motor Probleme. Das Geräusch klingt fürchterlich, geht eigentlich gar nicht. Mein SB steht mit dem Problem deswegen gerade wie deiner total zerlegt in der Werkstatt.

jezz im a auto tech and i thought Hay get the GLA45 its a 4cyl it should be easy to work on and fast....NOPE. Mind as well just get a old C63 if their no room under the hood of either, plus i drive a 2011 C300 anyways, a 2011 C63 is basically the same car just with a V8
