The steering box on these is supposed to be adjusted around 70k miles which apparently improves the steering considerably (yes, I’ve just been watching Tyrell’s Classic Cars 😂).

Yes, that foot operated parking brake on automatic Mercs caught me out on a roundabout once, when I delivered cars! My aim was to slow down, then join the roundabout as traffic allowed, dipped the "clutch" and did a full-on emergency stop - fortunately the driver behind me had good reactions!!

This old Mercedes has a serene presence on the road. Given the original first aid kit and breakdown warning sign, its somewhat surprising that the parcel shelf hat is missing 😃
