The plastic cover at the top of the card that you mentioned can brittle, where you able to see how to remove and replace it? Its a very common problem, yet there is almost no information about how to do it anywhere on the web.

Great video. How did you get the rear headrests off when it was jammed in the upright position? I’m trying to fix my headrest and i don’t want to break anything.

Hi James, it wasn't easy because there's very little discussion on forums as to how it works. The polished metal headrest "arms" that curve around into the mechanism have to be released, from memory, by small plastic clips that holds them in. They are locked in place , and from what I recall, it was necessary to push in small plastic tabs on the white plastic part of the mechanism that the arms go into, and at the same time, to pull out the headrest with some force. It was very difficult for me, and took a long time to get it un-clipped. Suddenly, it popped off.. You have to be careful as you're operating with very limited space between the rear parcel shelf and directing force toward the window. Let me know if you have too much trouble and I'll try and send you some images of the mechanism, as it makes more sense if you can sort of see what needs to happen with the release..

how did you get the seatbelt mechanism to extend?
@classicregister2 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter. From what I recall, the trick is to open then close the driver's door so the arm extends (do this while you are sitting in the back seat area), then once it's extended, pull out the power plug to the extender motor before it retracts (only gives you a few seconds to do it, but that should work).

Can these seats fold down?

Do you have access to the triangular plastic trim pieces. I need the left passenger side.

Hi Darryl, if you mean the ones that are fixed to the rear card (that surround the seatbelt hole), unfortunately not. I haven't seen them offered for sale new. I think the only option is to possibly have a trimmer put trim over the top to make it look nicer. They do tend to crack easily which I assume is why you're looking to replace them.. unfortunately I don't think they sell the separate piece.

Very, very lucky: my rear panels literally disintegrated! Just about every plastic piece crumbled. I’m finding myself fabricating my own plastics. Now I don’t know if MB used inferior plastics or what, but this seems to only happen to MB, that I know of... Very annoying. 🤦🏽♀️😡🤷🏽♀️

Mine crumbled too. The triangular plastic piece that covers the seat belt retractor motor. Did you have some fabricated? I found the driver side but now need the passenger side.

@@imjustsaying8244 don’t matter if you find any, it’s still going to crumble. Best thing to do is to coat it with fiberglass to reinforce it.. 🤷🏽♀️
